7:30PM 9/25 Update: Hurricane Helene is now poised to make landfall along the Florida Big Bend as a Cat. 4 Hurricane Thursday. Our local forecast remains largely on track with our biggest change being the issuance of Tropical Storm and Hurricane Warnings across our area. #gawx

Here's the timeline. Storms and heavy rain arrive as early as Wednesday afternoon for some. By Thursday morning, it will be pouring. Expect heavy rain through most of the day Thursday. The heaviest rain & strongest wind is expected early Friday morning. We dry out Friday evening.

GEMA/HS is closely monitoring Potential Tropical Cyclone #9 and is forecasted to impact Georgia on Thursday and Friday. Significant wind damage, flash flooding from heavy rainfall and possible tornadoes may occur. Stay tuned to your local @NWS office.
