Notice the hazy splotches across Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina? GOES-19 🛰️ is capturing the smoke plumes from numerous prescribed burns (and a few wildfires) occurring this afternoon and evening. 🔥 #gawx

Varying degrees of drought persist across the majority of north and central Georgia. Unfortunately, expansion of drought is likely in the coming weeks given the overall dry forecast through the remainder of March. #gawx

Good Wednesday evening! We've got one more chilly night in store before temperatures begin a gradual warming trend through the weekend. Protect sensitive plants and make sure pets have a warm place to sleep tonight. 🪴🐶 #gawx

We've got another chilly overnight in store for mid-March. 🥶 Low temperatures are expected to range from 27°F and 32°F (with temperatures 5°F to 10°F cooler in the higher elevations). #gawx

With an active week behind us, it's always nice to have a quieter week ahead. Temperatures will remain cool through tomorrow, with freezing temps tonight, however we should slowly warm through the weekend! #gawx

🥶 Temperatures will drop to around 26-30°F across much of north and central Georgia tonight into early Tuesday morning, with 'feels-like' temperatures around 5-10°F cooler than that. Remember to bundle up in the morning, and protect the 4 P's! #gawx

With the severe threat over, a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for portions of north Georgia for scattered snow showers. No impacts are expected at this time, though we could see small accumulations on elevated surfaces as well as briefly reduces visibility. #gawx
