The people SHALL NOT be silenced, they shall rise, question, and reclaim. Eldoret has spoken, and the nation must listen. #ReKe

That was not a joke. It was sexual innuendo directed at a 15 year old girl by Karen Nyamu, a sitting Senator of the Republic of Kenya, and a mother of daughters herself.
What makes it even more disturbing is the lack of remorse. The apology was clearly reluctant and only came after sustained pressure from fellow Senators and public outrage. But she kept protesting even as she read it.
Such remarks have no place anywhere, let alone on the floor of the Senate. It is deeply unfortunate that this came from someone seeking to represent the women of Nairobi in a leadership position where she would be expected to champion the rights, dignity and protection of women and vulnerable girls.
Public office demands responsibility, maturity and appreciation of the influence leaders hold in society.
The Senate from its origins in Ancient Rome was conceived as a chamber of statesmanship, wisdom and dignity. A house where those entrusted with public responsibility would rise above vulgarity and uphold the moral seriousness of leadership.

My journey to the presidency didn’t begin in political boardrooms or through powerful connections. I don’t need a godfather.
My mandate comes directly from the Kenyan people. For more than 20 years, I've stood in the streets, communities, and courtrooms, fighting for justice, accountability, and dignity. I’ve never stopped believing in a better Kenya.
The time to build a new Kenya rooted in love, truth, justice, and courageous leadership is NOW.
Join this movement. Let’s build it together. 🇰🇪

No single individual can unseat a sitting government, history consistently shows that meaningful political change is driven by coalitions. It is through the coming together of like-minded individuals, civic groups, and political parties that transformative movements are built.
However, unity alone is not enough. Such alliances must be grounded in shared values, clear principles, and a firm commitment to accountability. Even the current administration operates through coalitions and strategic partnerships, underscoring the reality that governance itself is collective.
In that context, collaboration is not just inevitable,it is necessary. But as we build these alliances, we must remain deliberate about leadership. Our flag bearer must embody the highest standards of integrity, inspire national unity, and reflect the aspirations of the people we seek to serve.
