Well guys, this is it. I have officially retired from professional Rocket League. I will make a video soon with the reasons why, some of which are obvious and some of which are a bit more personal. But for now, I just want to say thank you. This experience has been one of a lifetime, one that I will forever be grateful for and cherish. It's been almost a decade now since this journey began, and it has gone by so fast. From day one, I just wanted to appreciate it and not take it for granted, and looking back I am very proud. I have made so many memories from this game. Some of hardship and failure, and some of overcoming what I felt was impossible. All the friendships and relationships I have made, places I have had the privilege of going to, and it's all because of Rocket League. I am eternally grateful I stumbled upon this game and community, and I hope I was able to impact it even a fraction of how much it has impacted me. I won't be going too far, as I will still be making content around the game, but it is certainly the end of a huge chapter of my life, one that is bittersweet to close. To all my teammates, and those who supported me through all this, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. GarrettG

@arnoldwh is spittin! Rocket League is an amazing game that can bridge the gap between Esports and regular sports. Incorrect will hopefully come back to RL, but at this point, it's just for the love of the game. #WeAreNotFortnite

@JamaicanCocoRL @RocketLeagueFX I don’t think having a streamer or cc only montage would bring us together (what’s the cutoff for a streamer or cc). There’s already such a separation from the fans to the cc/pro community that I don’t think was there “back in the day”. But I’m just yapping

I watched an @RocketLeagueFX Streamsanity montage the other day and I realized how much more "together" the community felt back then. Nowadays it seems like most RL creators (myself included) mostly stick to themselves, and just post all their own clips to their socials, whereas in the past and in other games/esports, clips got posted to places like reddit, youtube montages, etc, to provide alot more of a "community" feel. I wonder how much of an effect, if any at all, these montages had on the average RL viewer. I know for myself I loved seeing all of the best clips from everybody in one single place. Whether it was funny moments, insane goals, or anything in between. I'm thinking of how crazy a montage of the different streamers and YouTubers in the RL community right now could be, would be cool to see.
