You go back a couple console gens and you had developers trying out all this stuff like fixed camera angles pre rendered backgrounds fixed lighting and particle effects and the most experimental you see them get now is a walk and talk and shot reverse shot conversation

they still make decent games. i do criticize the way they do loot in their action-rpg titles but Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, and Stranger of Paradise are awesome. that being said, old Team Ninja is still goated and much better because of Ninja Gaiden

The Norse saga combat is so much better than the Greek games I'm shocked it's even debate material. The gameplay to cutscenes ratio is also overwhelmingly in favor of the last two games yet it's them that get labeled "movies".

has anyone else noticed that gamers tend to have "NESphobia" where they just avoid games from that system as well as the Game Boy and Master System like the plague people's conception of "retro gaming" starts at around 1993 and anything before is caveman berry paintings
