In the past 48 hours, drones have crashed in the territories of all three Baltic states: a clear indication that Russia’s war against Ukraine is generating wider regional risk. We will respond by strengthening readiness and accelerating air defence. We must all remain vigilant.

France's Adam: "we were surprised to find that Iranian satellites were capable of performing relative manoeuvres with each other, a technique that few countries have mastered to date." Would love to see some examples of this because to my knowledge, Iran's sats are v rudimentary

NEW: Following the embarrassing lapses of Unit 29155, the GRU created a new, bespoke assassination and sabotage unit known as Center 795, meant to be "air-gapped" against compromise. Its top operative, Denis Alimov, is now in a jail cell in Colombia awaiting extradition to the U.S. because he used Google Translate to task his Serbian hitman. The FBI had everything in real time. And we've just burned the rest of Putin's brand new black ops squad. theins.press/en/inv/290235

Just got this from Planet Labs, they are delaying posting imagery from specific areas in the Middle East 96 hours due to operational security concerns: Reads in part: As part of Planet’s commitment to responsible data practices and the safety of personnel on the ground, we are implementing temporary adjustments to imagery access for a Designated Area of Interest (AOI) across the Middle East. All new imagery collected over the Gulf States, Iraq, Kuwait, and adjacent conflict zones will be subject to a mandatory 96-hour delay before it is made available in our archive. This change applies to both high (SkySat and Pelican) and medium (PlanetScope) resolution data sets. This measure is intended to prevent adversarial actors from using recent data for immediate Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) and is rooted in our commitment to ensuring the safety of allied and NATO-partner personnel and civilians on the ground. As the conflict evolves, the area impacted may change. What this means for your workflow: Effective immediately, customers will experience a 96-hour delay on all data in the Planet Archive over the Gulf States, Iraq, Kuwait, and adjacent conflict zones. This delay applies to customer-tasked data as well. Tasking and Archive data access over Iran will remain unchanged and continue to publish immediately, for the time being. We recognize that timely data is critical to your operations. We are actively monitoring the situation and intend to resume standard service cadences as soon as safety conditions permit. ... Thank you for your partnership and understanding. Best regards,

Exclusive: Kremlin videos meant to show Vladimir Putin calmly working as the Iran war escalates may not be what they claim. An investigation by Systema, the investigative unit of RFE/RL's Russian service @SvobodaRadio, found several "recent" meetings published by the Kremlin were actually recorded earlier. The clue? Plants in Putin's office. 1/4 🧵

@AlexanderDinger Ich lasse diese Geschichte von Jamal Khashoggi mal hier
Ryan Grim@ryangrim

This is a chance to retell a Bahrain story @JKhashoggi told me a few weeks before he was killed. He said that before he relocated to the U.S. he launched a broadcast channel in Bahrain that was supposed to be modeled after Al Jazeera. On the first day, there was a small protest somewhere and they sent a reporter to cover it, and asked the govt for comment. The govt said wait a minute, you can’t cover this protest. He said well of course we have to cover it, that’s what a news network does. They said well then we don’t want a news network, and shut it down immediately. It lasted like a day.

There’s lots of talk about what OSINT does & when you should restrain because it benefits the enemy Usually, the answer is pretty simple, foreign intelligence services have similar or better capabilities & are not relying on this “INT” One could speculate if that’s the case here
