He clipped the side of the net…not Sorokin. The other 2 he gave were not good either. He’s a great goalie…that hasn’t looked that good lately. The + is that because of the d-zone structure last night…the team finally won 1 for him…instead of the other way around. #isles

Insane that Sorokins been incredible all season... probably our MVP... and the second he gets run into by his own defenseman & gives up a "softie" its back to "he sucks." #Isles You guys are ridiculous, some of you deserve not to watch playoffs.

Did not like Sorokin’s game last night. For once the team was able to carry him…due to a much better D-zone Structure…Bur Sorokin needs get his head out of his ass. What scares me is that he’s got a habit of not coming up big…in past huge games. #isles

@RTaub_ Did he have a limited skilled roster…absolutely! But… his unwillingness to readjust the D-zone structure was his down fall. He forced a system that just didn’t work. He failed to understand that the man-man d structure was a complete disaster right in front of his eyes!

A couple thoughts on this clip (more so the first minute-plus) that was brought to my attention: 1. If this is true — this would be a really tough look on the locker room more than Roy. 2. If it was one or two players, current or former, it’s incredibly soft. 3. The Islanders organization have had and still continue to have former Cup winners around the team a good amount of the time. 4. Why the hell as a current/former player would you not want to get the mindset of someone who’s a multiple Stanley Cup winner and Hall of Famer? That seems totally ridiculous. 5. Roy not bending on how he wants players to play his way or is hard on them I can absolutely see being accurate. #Isles

@collinoscopy4 @DynoDangle Exactly…and in the end his inability or unwillingness to make those types of adjustments resulted in his demise. Gotta wonder if any of the defensive coaches ever attempted to convince him.

@Isles_Goal @DynoDangle Likely yes but the problem was Roy got decent results in poor fundamentals for a long time…I won’t say Roy did a bad job in the end cause sometimes you go with your gut instead of reason, but that is clearly no longer effective and at the worst possible moment.

@collinoscopy4 @DynoDangle I do believe though…that if they would have made adjustments with the d-zone structure…to a zone defense…we’d be solidly in 2nd…and closer to 1st….especially if Sorokin didn’t have to face so many high danger shots.

@DynoDangle @Isles_Goal My point is that the isles had a top 10 coach of all time behind the bench and the fanbase wasn’t satisfied, so the perpetual bitching about everything should not come as a surprise to anyone

@DynoDangle @Isles_Goal I didn’t want to fire Roy this year because the results weren’t as bad as the metrics and expected a collapse as more likely than not if you moved from him, which worked…til it didn’t. See: Leafs firing Carlyle to understand the full hesitancy.

@DynoDangle @norespect4isles It’s a lot easier to make the point now…how valuable Trotz was. He took a team Taft was last on D and made them 1st. Now those same guys can’t perform at the same level…without that D structure.

@norespect4isles @Isles_Goal That was extremely rare & that'll happen with everything. Fans are still asking them to trade Barzal. If your logic behind Trotz is that the team needed to head in a different direction, I think there was a valid point to be had. Especially considering years later - 0 success.

he’s a turnover machine. U never know where he’s going leave the puck or make blind behind the back passes…or passes thru the middle of the ice @ the blue line that result in odd man rushes against. He is talented..but not very bright. If only he would drive to the net! #isles

@IslesDen Barzal carried this offense all season. He makes a few turnovers where his defensemen EASILY could be back to cover but don’t and it’s solely his fault. Crazy how the guy never gets praise and only hate. There are guys who go out there and do nothing all game that get less hate.

@Isles_Goal This is the only sort of logic we can use to defend essentially the entire team, that they were coached in to a corner. Meanwhile: some people in national media still think we're a good defensive team that had great coaching with Roy. Hilarious.

I think this is a major fail by mgmt…all the way around! From Roy’s D structure…to Darche’s failure to act sooner. He didn’t make great decisions @ the deadline…but IMO…the failed structure ultimately had a cumulative affect causing a collapse of epic proportion! #isles
