Now this is utterly ridiculous. I have no doubt that @BobbyMarks42 was told what he said he was told (He’s incredible at what he does) — but there is no way in hell @FCHWPO is the 7th-best player on any team in the NBA. @DevaronPerry Definitely agree. Keon seems to be a miss due to coaching. “Gotta pay to play” They did that with Garland. Which was cool. Allen might need to be the sacrificial lamb next. Anybody not named Mitch/Mobley should be available.

@JC_pls1 Hunter was a big swing and miss. Keon was a miss so far. Lonzo was a swing and miss. Big athletic wings aren’t cheap. You can’t patch things with much more than duct tape when you have little assets. That’s why Allen is constantly thrown in trade talks.

Brunson also makes up for it in other way while trying defensively. Brunson’s playmaking chops were in full display during the playoffs. To me, it’s less defensive issue and more lack of consistency in terms of playmaking. Harden helps to work around that I suppose.

A lot of Cavs fans can’t accept that Dmitch isn’t a defensive specialist. He didn’t make the league or stay in the league cause defense. It’s the front offices job to build around their BEST player. Brunson plays zero defense and just won a chip, how? Because his front office.

@DevaronPerry Ehhh idk. Every team they’ve struggled with in the playoffs is bigger, faster and more athletic on the wing. Kolby has yet to address that glaring hole. He’s trying to patch things with duct tape that require welding.

Personally, I think Koby and co. have tried to surround him with players that make up for his warts as a player. Some just haven’t worked out. I do agree that Kenny’s rotational timing and decision making plays a role but I’ve seen far too many occasions of Mitchell failing to make the best read or easy play in search of a pull up jumper. There are a lot of issues. It’s obviously not just Mitchell

It only makes sense for Bron to stay in LA and coast to the sunset or come to CLE, boost the NBA ratings one more season, have a last year season like we’ve never seen and end his career with a chip in CLE. Anything else is just speculation and boredom.

@tonyjmalf This has zero relation to when the Cavs traded for him. He already had years in the league. They did not trade for him because he was Bruce Bowen on defense. They traded for him because he showed he could consistently put up points. Something Garland was not doing.

@NeekapHere Snitch attempts to play defense too. But he can’t guard 6’4-‘6’8 wings and when you paid a cone, harden, next to him on defense, it negates anything they do on offense, because they will give up a shit ton of points.

@DevaronPerry The main point of the post was to highlight how the front office is doing Dmitch a disservice with this roster. If that’s truly your guy, put around him what’s needed to excel. If you don’t want him to be the guy, make the decision and trade him and figure out who your “guy” is.

@DevaronPerry I believe the lack of consistency is rooted in systematic issues. Example: Dmitch can come out hot in the 2nd half, drop 12 straight points and his coach takes him out because of his terribly timed rotation. Also, the fit of players around Mitchell has not been ideal.
