Cade Cunningham is being regarded as a top 10 player. He’s been to the playoffs twice in 5 years. Wemby is already considered top 5 in many places. There are exceptions to the rule Kyle. Also, basketball is a team sport. Takes time to successfully build a playoff roster

A gift on a platter? You still have to negotiate the deal coach. Again, he flamed out. But he was also huge in delivering your franchise it’s only championship. That counts for something. Toronto had a record 545-419 under him. Fifth best in the league during that stretch. I’d go back and revisit a lot of the moves that built the foundation for winning that title. It was a steady build up culminating in seizing the opportunity to get Kawhi. By no means a perfect tenure but the man clearly knows hoops. Good hire.

@markfrenden I can when Barnes is an all-nba level defender, a better rebounder, and better playmaker. This is obviously subjective and there isn’t a huge gap between that 10-15 range and 15-20 but I definitely think Barnes two-way ability gives him the nod.

Not at all, he just put up 24.1 PPG and 8.6 AST, while knocking down 50.9% of his shots against some very formidable defenders in that of Dean Wade and Evan Mobley. Had a TS% of 59.0% vs Wade Had a TS % of 53.7% vs Mobley Had a TS% of 67.1% vs Strus Had a TS% of 57.8% vs Allen Merrill only defended him for 14 possessions. Didn’t really matter who was on him. 64% around the rim. 46% from the midrange. 38% from deep. Genuinely impressive.

@DevaronPerry But I think you’re inflating his offense as well since he just beat up on a TO prone, no true PG team with Sam Merrill playing the 3.

While I have talked shit, I also know how to lump praise like I did all series long with players like CMB. It’s a balanced approach. The tweet wasn’t meant to speak to you in particular. And by virtue of your logic, if in spewing lies, Scottie isn’t a top 15 player, CMB doesn’t impact the game at all, the Raptors are not ahead of schedule and do not have a bright future.
