If UT had any of that, they should probably expose who the player is that got to stay and donate his winnings to charity as punishment, right? Instead they redact all the pertinent info behind a sweetheart deal with the @NCAA because whoever it is and what all he did was substantial enough to want to keep it off public record. Pot calling kettle black at its finest here. si.com/college/texas/…

Everyone wants Texas Tech to “do the right thing.” This is college sports, when has that ever been a thing? Focus on ending judicial interference rather than bash the Red Raiders for doing what almost everyone else would do (or has done). Column for @espn espn.com/college-footba…

Hey pal, you're quoting an aggregation of my reporting. Parker Livingston left Texas on New Year's Day, 2026. The story you're quoting -- which describes a player who placed impermissible wagers, then leaving -- was published in March 2025.
RDR III@RudeDawgRules

PER SOURCES: The two Longhorn football players caught gambling on sports - Livingston and Manning. Livingston transferred and they spun-it into a "NIL Issue". Manning is publicized for making donations to charity. si.com/college/texas/…

How do you feel about UT players gambling and getting to keep all details redacted with a punishment of paying your winnings to charity? Since this is such a hot topic, shouldn’t we be demanding this info be disclosed? Or just water under the bridge because it’s a traditional blue blood? si.com/college/texas/…

It certainly isn't the most important aspect of the story, but it's sad that Texas Tech was on the precipice of being embraced by CFB as a success story like Indiana, but has instead decided upon its current path. Wrote about it: cbssports.com/college-footba…

@TheAndyKatz So how do you feel about UT gambling players that just get to redact their names and pay winnings to charity? If you have no comment, makes you a pretty big hypocrite too Andy! si.com/college/texas/…

Texas Tech fans let’s try this because y’all have a hard time accepting the truth. Name me another college athlete to be caught by the NCAA betting on their own team WHILE IN COLLEGE and keep their eligibility to play again in college.

Not always, if at UT you just get your name redacted and pay your winnings to charity, quite the punishment.🤣 You gonna clutch your pearls, whine, and throw a hissy fit about this one too or is that only reserved for Tech? Or what about Boutte at LSU? I’ll take your silence as admission that you don’t truly have morals and integrity, just on a witch hunt now that our football team is on the come up like Campbell said. si.com/college/texas/…

It’s highly likely that someone that gambled on football is playing right now for UT. The deal UT made with @NCAA is that the player gets to keep his name redacted and pay his winnings to charity, quite the punishment.🤣 You gonna raise a stink about this one and demand we get more details on it or is that only reserved for Tech? si.com/college/texas/…

While you are coming off your Texas Tech Derangement Syndrome and back to looking at this issue in full, shouldn’t we also demand the name of the UT player that got to keep his name redacted by the @NCAA and whose only punishment was to pay his winnings to charity? si.com/college/texas/…

Last Thing I’ll say about the Brendan Sorsby Situation until we get concrete updates: Cincinnati also plays a significant role in this entire situation as well… it’s not just Texas Tech They knew about the Gambling Problem that Sorsby and instead of doing what’s best for him and the game? They kept it under wraps. Scott Satterfield chose his own job security over what’s best for Brandon Sorsby/what’s best for the integrity of the sport.

This is the final post I make about the Brendon Sorsby situation. All of you Texas Tech fans who want to bring up Georgia's arrests over the last year or the last four years, know this. Those players were arrested, locked up, paid their bail, paid their fines, and were again punished by Kirby Smart on the practice field, and suspended for at least one game (if not indefinitely). Sorsby was caught, punished by the NCAA, let off by a Texas court, and has received a slap on the wrist of a 2-game suspension (a reduced sentence). That's the real difference. Georgia's players paid their debt and then some; Sorsby won't even have to pay his original debt.

@JRoseTTU @CJVogel_OTF You also conveniently left out one coach fired and one player dismissed from the team. The other Texas player never played that season.

@finebaum @finebaum We should probably ask for more details on the UT player that simply got to keep his name redacted and pay his winnings to charity with the recent focus on this topic, right Paul? si.com/college/texas/…

Not a crazy statement when other schools get to simply keep a player’s name redacted and pay his winnings to charity after caught gambling. The details of this situation were significant enough to keep them hidden so shouldn’t we demand for them to be revealed with the recent uproar surrounding this topic. si.com/college/texas/…
