Don't miss the final #LimitedEdition character skin drop leading up to the #Earth2 early access #Chapter1 release! A community design submitted skin (congratulations @MegaFrontman!) which our talented team modeled to life in 3D, ready for use in the #Metaverse 🌎✌️ These #LimitedEdition character skin drops are all we've released to date, so people have gotten used to them, but just a reminder that in the future any new #LimitedEdition character drops will be a lot fewer & farther between once #E2V1 is live, reserved mainly for very special events or collaborations. We want all #LimitedEdition drops to be become more rare & sort after as the platform grows. As mentioned in the past, we will move to a more traditional style system releasing character skins with unlimited editions that are only available for limited times throughout each year. There are a few other important points we'd like to share before the first variation drops: 1⃣ For this drop $ESS skin options will be based on a fixed $0.06 $ESS value. 2⃣ As mentioned in the past, any #LimitedEdition skin drops that don't sell out could be released again in the future until they sell out, but only after the #P2P skin trading store is live. 3⃣ #LimitedEdition skins that have not sold out & are released again will be at least double their original release sale price, sometimes more depending on which skin it is. So it's ok if skins don't sell out, they're just something available for early supporters. 4⃣ The last remaining Luna skin, not yet released, will be released at a future date, which could be any time. 5⃣ We know we still need to release the Cybercore-X weapons. 6⃣ There might be a one or two surprise drops throughout this final #LimitedEdition release 7⃣ How freaking cool is this Cheok Jun-Gyeong #skin! The Korean community requested it and #Earth2 delivered! This does not change release plans for #Chapter1 but some of our community might like to see the progress on the combat system as some are interested in the #staking system, combat game play & #P2E. When we have #Chapter1 live, which will include the entire life system, exploring, crafting, surviving plus the early teleportation system (specific details of that system to be released, and then #Earth2Hordes Q3.. the foundations really start to take shape. I am not sure people realise who much just these 3 systems will bring into #E2V1, and they are literally only the beginning! We set the video to premiere just in case some in the community wanted to watch it together, otherwise we would have just instantly released. Hope you all enjoy the footage & progress on the combat system. I love the custom animations we made for the #SMG, just feels cool when slow or fast running with it! For those who have seen the #E2V1 footage being shared by early pre-alpha testers on YouTube etc - just imagine having your characters, exploring the massive open world of #E2V1 then coming across #Hordes to battle .. along with all of the other mechanics that will be implemented at the time. There are some really impressive projects in this one so highly recommend checking it out 🌍✌️ 📔earth2.io/news/megacity-… The new article above has more details, but here are a few things to keep in mind about the footage from this series: All footage has been recorded in real-time, directly from our 510,072,000 km² digital Earth, a geologically accurate 1:1 scale replica of the real world. The technical achievements behind this showcase are a testament to the power and possibilities of the Earth 2 engine. 1⃣ Perfectly Positioned Tiles on Geologically Accurate Terrain This footage highlights the precision with which thousands of Player-owned tiles and flags are displayed simultaneously on screen in real-time. The terrain you see in the footage is not procedurally generated terrain but rather geologically accurate terrain formations where each tile is mapped with exact precision, matching real-world topography. This alone is a feat that required extensive technological development and remains a standout feature of Earth 2. 2⃣ Streaming Thousands of Tiles in Real-Time The ability to stream thousands of approximately 19x19m tiles in real-time, with perfect accuracy, and each with their own set of datapoints which help to display property borders, flag types, location details and ownership. The footage demonstrates how our engine can handle immense amounts of data while maintaining seamless performance with aesthetically acceptable visuals. This level of precision ensures that every Player’s property is displayed exactly as intended, even when viewed from impressive view distances. 3⃣ Impressive View Distances from High Altitudes The footage showcases Player tiles rendered and streamed from well above the Earth’s surface, providing breathtaking perspectives on large-scale megacities and tile art. The ability to seamlessly display this scale and accuracy at such altitudes demonstrates the robustness and scalability of our evolving engine. 4⃣ Terrain Collision, Biomes & Property Data In each megacity featured in the footage, we try to highlight several key technological achievements. The camera typically zooms in, placing an avatar or vehicle onto the terrain, showcasing the ability of our engine to handle real-time interaction with geologically accurate terrain. While moving in real-time, we toggle various systems such as biomes (trees, bushes, grass), seasons, flags, and property data, demonstrating the seamless operation of these massive data systems in real time. This process highlights not only the precision of the engine but also its power and responsiveness. Viewers can see the terrain collision which enables avatars or vehicles to be placed anywhere in the 510,072,000km2 world and interact naturally with the environment. This terrain collision demonstrates a strong foundation for future gameplay mechanics. Additionally, during avatar drops, we demonstrate further interactivity with features such as Cydroids. The avatar’s plasma gun or rocket launcher can target and engage these entities, as well as interact directly with the terrain, emphasising the engine's ability to manage dynamic, real-time interactions while rendering massive datasets like biomes, terrain and property details. Further Thoughts While some of the capabilities mentioned above may appear standard in general game development, their implementation within a 510,072,000 km² geographically accurate map presents significantly greater challenges. Our video team condense it down into a few minutes played at speed to showcase 3⃣ just because we are showcasing this now does not mean it's what the team is actively working on, nor does it mean it's the only thing the team has been working on. This footage was recorded months ago. 4⃣ just check out the video and article if you're interested, and enjoy knowing that #Earth2 is dedicated to creating its own assets and IP for the long haul! Over time, hundreds (maybe even thousands) of these creations will populate #E2V1, paving the way for more experiences and deeper immersion. Happy 4th Anniversary #Earth2! Thank you for being part of this journey🙏🌍✌️ Even with some setbacks, our team managed to get through quite a lot over the past 12 months & we're focusing on the next part of the #Earth2 #Metaverse! earth2.io/news/earth-2-t… I often wonder why I am always pushed for time, then I look back at the past 12 months & start to see why.. being involved in all of these releases plus so many other challenges that take place behind the scenes each & every single day, it really becomes a mission at times. It does become challenging to carry on at times, but I do, and I thank all of those who have supported me throughout those hard times. It means a lot to me and it certainly picks me up. Thank you.
