Left wing media at its finest, folks. He was speaking in reference to SCOTUS or a lower court removing the VRA Section 2 and 14th amendment violations on Alabama’s 2023 congressional map. Every reporter in the room knew that, and Kyle does too.
Kyle Whitmire@WarOnDumb

Alabama House speaker said he hopes SCOTUS “will overturn Amendment 14,” the one that made Black people citizens and guaranteed equal protection under law. It wasn’t just a slip. Today’s newsletter. 👉 link.al.com/public/45636598

🚨 JUST IN: Democrats are now enraged nationwide after Alabama GOP State Senators RAMMED THROUGH a 2026 redistricting bill in the middle of dangerous tornados, sirens BLARING Freaking PATRIOTS. Passing it during a tornado! The south is filled with MAGA ready to fight instead of helping Dems in the midterms. Pass a 6-1 or preferably 7R-0D MAP, ALABAMA! Hardball time 🔥

While @RepTerriSewell protested efforts at the Alabama State House today to redraw the state's congressional map, she has openly cheered on Democrat gerrymandering to wipe Republicans off the map entirely in blue states. "I'd take 52 seats from California, I sure would, and 17 seats from Illinois," Sewell recently told reporters. "We're going to play their game, and we're going to beat them at it," she said. Time will tell if Sewell is right, Speaker @RepLedbetter hinted to Alabama's capitol press corps when lawmakers got to work this week. "I believe that district was a 50-50 split then, and that's been a few years ago. The population has declined in that congressional district," Ledbetter said. "So, yeah, I think with the right candidate and the funding, it's certainly possible." The Speaker said he predicts under lawmakers' plan, Alabama's safest, most blue district will become a "purple district." "I think so," he said. "Yeah, that's a good way to describe it." Thank you, @GovernorKayIvey, for giving Alabama a fighting chance to send 7 Republicans to Congress. The House and Senate will convene 4 p.m. Monday for a special session. Joint statement from Senate President Pro Tem @GarlanGudgerJr and me below: “After extensive dialogue and careful planning among Alabama’s legislative leadership and Governor Ivey, we are grateful for the opportunity to convene in a special session to address the issue of redistricting. Governor Ivey is right: while SCOTUS delivered a landmark victory for conservatives, Alabama’s situation is unlike many other states, as we are under a court order preventing the State Legislature from redrawing congressional maps until 2030. With that said, we can and will set a contingency plan in place for our state’s primary elections should the U.S. Supreme Court remand Alabama’s current case to a lower court with clear instructions to apply the Callais ruling. While there are no guarantees that Alabama’s now unlawful, court mandated roadblock will be removed in time, we have a responsibility to give our state a fighting chance to send seven republican members to Congress. Control of the U.S. House of Representatives could come down to just a handful of seats, and when the dust settles, the people of Alabama will know that their Legislature stood firm, acted decisively, and did everything within its power to fight for fair representation.”

Public school funding: > $8 BILLION School choice: < $150 million Funding isn’t the problem in the public school system. And neither is the legislature stepping up to fix what has long been broken. ⁦@TrussTribune@algopal.com/news/2026/02/s…

.@CoachForGov and Alabama House Speaker @RepLedbetter announced support on Thursday for closing Alabama’s primary elections to only registered members of each party. Alabama does not currently have party registration. Instead, voters choose a party ballot at the polls. State law also bars voters from switching parties between a primary and that cycle’s runoff. “There’s a lot of talk about this,” Tuberville said. “I’ve spoken with Speaker Ledbetter and we agree that we have to do something about Democrats voting in our elections. They shouldn’t be doing it. I know he’s moving a bill forward very very soon as we speak, and if we can get that done, I think it’s gonna help the cause of the conservative Republicans in the State of Alabama.” According to Speaker Ledbetter, lawmakers are in the process of reviewing proposals, “and are eager to get the ball rolling.” Read more here: yellowhammernews.com/report-sen-tub… #Alabama #ALPolitics #Voting #Elections

Alabama is now 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒐𝒔𝒕 pro-law enforcement state in the nation. It was an honor to join Governor Ivey and law enforcement officers from across the state for a ceremonial signing of the Safe Alabama Package. We have set the standard for what it means to back the blue.

A victory for President Trump means an America-first economic policy that safeguards Alabama’s 270,000+ manufacturing jobs. It means a secure southern border, protecting Alabama’s communities. And it means Kamala Harris never has a say in how things get done in Alabama.

Neither Holder nor Figures live in Alabama, so it makes sense that they are clueless about how easy it is to vote here when you’re eligible to do so. Thanks to the efforts of the Legislature and @alasecofstate, Alabamians can have confidence when they head to the polls.
Yellowhammer News@yhn

“You know, all these unnecessary photo ID laws, all these claims of vote fraud, which they really just use to come up with ways in which they suppress the vote of people who look like us,” Eric Holder said while campaigning for Figures. #alpolitics yellowhammernews.com/they-suppress-…

I’ve spent today reflecting on last night’s blatant mockery of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by the @Olympics. My biggest takeaways are that the world needs Jesus more than ever, and protecting our Alabama values has never been more important. God bless America.

Today’s vote proves what we’ve known all along - the UAW has no place in Alabama. Congratulations, and thank you to the good people at Mercedes. Your collective decision has protected the livelihoods of all Alabama auto workers and our nation-leading industry as a whole.
Grayson Everett@Grayson270

Game over for UAW at Mercedes-Benz manufacturing facility in Alabama. 2,045 votes in favor of unionizing—2,642 votes against as officially certified by the NLRB. #alpolitics
