@NoirDia @delatonesx Explain to me what difference is exactly? Your people took Africans musical traditions and claim it as your own & then turn around and tell Africans our music is from you It’s literal lunacy

@JagunJr @delatonesx Bro, Calypso, Soca, Ska is made by the African population who lived away from Africa for 200+ years and for some Black ppl 400+ years. Afroswing are ppl who are direct first and 2nd gen Black ppl in England. Do you honestly think these are equivalent examples?

so the culture didn’t die if it’s respawning into these new genres u mention then? maybe i missed it but i think u lack the insight on how afroswing impacted afrobeats before the piano era uk ppl devalue their own creations too much, whilst the rest of the world is inspired.
EdRants@Ed_Rants

If culture never dies, explain why whenever someone makes a “the UK failed x” type tweet, it’s usually about a ‘017 afroswing artist. Afroswing 2.0/Afrobounce/Afrofusion is well underway, and it’s far better and far removed from the previous era.

@NoirDia @delatonesx Steel pan percussion is literally West African in origin. This is exactly what I’m talking about…. Neither Afroswing or Afrobeats has shit to do with Caribbeans, just because afew Caribbeans were making it doesn’t change that

@JagunJr @delatonesx Bro most Afroswing music is filled with Patwa words, toasting/emceeing style of singing in songs, the steel pan sounds in hella instrumentals, Rapping over Dancehall beats is part of the pre-cursor to Afroswing like Touch Ah Button. Bro idek how we're debating this?

@JagunJr @delatonesx If you incapable of hearing Dancehall elements in Afroswing then music conversations aren't for you and thats okay. We've got hella ppl in the community that have the capacity to do this. You just aint one of them.

@NoirDia @jojoldn @delatonesx You’ve just said a whole bunch of nothing. What is the Caribbean aspect in Afro swing? What instrument? What about it is Caribbean? Do Caribbeans give credit to Africans for calypso, soca, ska etc? Do you ever even see Africans asking for credit?

@JagunJr @jojoldn @delatonesx nah Afroswing was born in response to children in Ldn from the African Western coastal nations (Naij being the key nation tbf) making music that responded to growing up in community with children who descend from Jamaica and the Caribbean. You cant remove that key context

@jb_0161 @jojoldn @delatonesx You’re literally also british Nigerian, what is “black British”? What is that? Where are “black Britis” from? Coolies claim everything as their own & give Africans 0 credit while dumbass’s like yourself are yapping about “black British”. “Afroswing” = west African music
