If you're a Southampton fan who supports a Reform party who'd accept Rupert Lowe, I don't want to think about what else you'd forget.

@smclaughlin93 Probably because you were supposed to crash 3 times that day. Pfft. Amateur.

@CrYpTiK_Kaiser @rcl51087 @smclaughlin93 I know what the original is and I know who created it. Just want complete confirmation. 😆

@rcl51087 @smclaughlin93 There is a version with an unconfirmed word in it. Unfortunately, Scott McLaughlin doesn't stand by his word and won't confirm it.*
*Hoping belittling him works.

@F1mech Came across this tweet from hearing that quote. I don't disagree with them. I'm sure your book does have a lot of interesting discussions as you've mentioned. But if somebody were to do that in my presence, it would make me feel uncomfortable. Let alone other groups.

I wrote over 70,000 words, spanning a 15 year career as a motorsport mechanic.
I spoke about my own experiences with the sports lack of diversity. I spoke about the mental health implications for those that travel all season through a gruelling calendar. I spoke about the death of Jules Bianchi, the impact it had not only on me, and how the safety of the sport has improved as a result. I spoke about a cost cap that is killing the meritocracy of the job market in the sport and driving the best, most valuable personnel into other industries.
I also spoke about a very personal experience I had relating to the biases and double standards that women face working in the sport.
I expected, upon the public release of ‘Life In The Pitlane’, that some of these issues raised might garner attention from fans of the sport and those already working in it or aspiring to do so. That’s kinda the idea of writing a book. I tried to be very honest, and also fair, in expressing my views and opinions about the industry, in the hope that it would provide insight and insipre. In doing so, I of course knew that it might also open me up to criticism.
I also understood that there’d be a small corner of F1 twitter that would, of course, find any opportunity to be critical.
I want to be unequivocally clear about one thing…
If ANY of the people I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside for the last 15 years, those who understand and have experienced a life in racing, had read my book and expressed concerns or issues with any its content, I would be absolutely mortified. Thankfully, that hasn’t been the case, the response has been overwhelmingly positive and I’m very proud of the book we produced.
What I will say is that if you think that taking a 10 second excerpt out of a 15 year career and think that it provides you with the insight to offer any opinion of value, you’re sorely mistaken.
All I ask is that you read ‘Life In The Pitlane’ in its entirety, put your fandom to one side, and try to offer something constructive to the conversation.

@Telegraph The most embarrassing thing THE BBC has ever done? They moved the entire school to fucking Scotland once.

🖋️ "Waterloo Road, which is back on BBC One, has a new storyline about a transgender teenager. And you won’t believe how crass it is," writes Michael Deacon

English

To be honest, as trans storylines go, it's less about trans issues unless you focus on it as such because culture war.
It's more of an Alzheimer's storyline that happens to use a character transitioning to question whether them being forgotten is how they've always, truly felt.

Because the #WaterlooRoad writers know I exist, I should remind them that I'm on Bluesky.

Embarrassing enough to predict your own team to lose 5-0 and celebrate when they do.
Typical snobs in hospitality, all they see us as are the vermin who encourage the players for a more entertaining show.
So respectfully do one ya melt

Went to the St Mary’s for first time in a while. My mum, who knows nothing about football, predicted the 0-5 loss then got booed when collecting her prize from Adam Armstrong in the Saints hospitality 😂

@Moobilizer79 @Number10cat @rjar1980 @RupertLowe10 "What steps did you take to reduce the likelihood of sex offenders?"
It's a reasonable question to ask from a documentary maker on that exact subject in 1997. It doesn't magically go away.
Then again, Rupert seems to have a clear ignorance of the truth with Savile being that.
English

You wasted an entire paragraph to say absolutely nothing but waffle.
Nearly an entire decade passed between him leaving the club and Lowe arriving, thats literally like blaming a foreman on a site for erecting a new property because the old one collapsed !
You fucking people are delusional and hilarious in equal measure.
English

@Joballs11 @finngando @OfficialVizeh If it was accidental, you'd think he would apologise for the misunderstanding and make it absolutely clear. What's he done? Attended a Germany's AfD rally.
The same AfD that are too much for Marine Le Pen.

@finngando @OfficialVizeh I don't like musk at all but he said my heart goes out to you and pointed to the crowd, I know it looks a bit close but you can't forget he's super autistic and that causes a lack of social skills

@HugoScheckter Not checked Twitter in weeks. It's a cesspit here. I saw the funny side.

A few clarifications as I’m getting some negativity (as well as some threats of violence which is insane):
- I posted a video of my mum celebrating after randomly guessing a score in a club organised competition.
- My mum picked a random score, she doesn’t follow football and could have easily as picked the 5-0 Saints win.
- I have no animosity towards Southampton, nor am I a fan- I had a wonderful 3.5 years at the club but I worked at both clubs in yesterday’s game and so was truly neutral.
- I don’t know Adam and he wasn’t the focus for the post. Had my mum not won the competition, it’s not something I would have filmed.
- I started the booing as my mum won a prize for predicting the home team would lose.
- The abusive comments from Saints fans blaming me or my family for this result don’t reflect the warm and friendly fan base I got to know when I was at the club.
- I wish the club all the best for the rest of the season and hope they stay up. So many good memories and friends working there.

@RupertLowe10 Is there any legislation about the incompetent running failing businesses near schools?
Because I have an experience of that you might be incredibly aware of.
English

@RupertLowe10 You get angry watching something decline so badly?
League One Minus 10 springs to mind. I wonder who was the key decision-maker in that.
I'd be more amazed if you didn't do this for a hypothetical, make-believe fantasy nightmare of you in a majority party.
English

@RupertLowe10 So not somebody with a history of incompetence.
Got a party in mind? Definitely not yours since they hired you.
English

@RupertLowe10 And you're the one to hold them to account? Somebody with a track record of incompetence?
If we applied that for you, you'd be unemployed until the end of time.
