As fans we’ve justifiably criticised the recruitment & its processes over the last few seasons, and in recent weeks those within the club have themselves acknowledged it needs change, and here we have it. Based on his experience & knowledge of the game (particularly around this level) I’m intrigued to see what route we take ahead of next season & beyond. All the best Dobbo 💙

As a fanbase, I think we should be learning that we need to hold off on making judgements about a player or a move made within the club, until we've given substantial time for whatever it is to take effect. The structural change announced yesterday (and I'm sure it won't be the last) has been met with a few responses of "jobs for the boys" or "we need fresh faces and fresh ideas". Kenny Jackett was brought in after the takeover as DoF - somebody with a lot of experience in the game but was ultimately a fresh face, with fresh ideas. During his time overseeing football matters (which would include recruitment), we signed the likes of Rowe, Jonny Williams, Andrews, Nevitt, Hutton, Nadesan, Bonne & Nolan - many of whom have been labelled as poor signings. I'm by no means saying Jackett is solely responsible, but maybe we should give Dobson and co. a chance before writing this one off completely. #Gills

@JamesCleal I am aligned with your concern but I think we need to wait & see what happens. We also need to acknowledge that a player who has a contract extended doesn't mean they're going to be a starter. We need depth & back up.
