@Horty86 @j4ireland But I don’t think it’s about the political party turning up any more - at least it isn’t for me. I personally didn’t care but you can’t lie to fans and staff about a situation which had become toxic and expect no repercussions

@ScottChegg00 The trouble is both sides choose to ignore valid points from the other to land their points. Is it a big deal having a major political party at the ground? No. But should they have let them film etc etc? No. Is lying about what happened acceptable? No.

Some fans want Ashton gone because it’s Farage. Some want him to stay because it’s Farage. Some want him to stay because it doesn’t matter. Some want him gone because he’s lied to the fanbase. Those are the standpoints. Pick your corner time. #itfc

Whatever your political stance, I think he’s going to have to go. Not only was it entirely obvious this would divide the fanbase and staff, he also went on to lie to try and cover his arse. A big ego will eventually get the better of you. #itfc

I don’t doubt that a large chunk of the uproar is politically motivated but a) Ashton must’ve known that would happen and b) he’s gone on to lie about it and take the piss out of fans and staff

@JamiePinner It's already divided and I don't think it matters who is in power, it will remain divided. Neither side will be happy, I can't see a way out of the political division which has taken hold over the past 10-15 years

The most terrifying thing about the fall out y’day isn’t anything to do with the club, it’s that it gives a glimpse in to just how divided and toxic the whole country will be IF reform do indeed get in to power at the next general election as the polls suggest they might!! #itfc

Like him or loathe him just remember what Ashton has done for this club for 5 years before screaming for his head. Yes it was a mistake but no laws have been broke. It was one visit from a credible politician, not the 2nd coming of Joseph Fritzl FFS #itfc
