Newcastle have made contact with Sporting Lisbon over the availability of right back Ivan Fresneda over a summer move.
Newcastle see Fresneda as the perfect replacement for Keiran Trippier this summer.
The 21yo has a €80 million (£69 million) release clause at Sporting, but it’s thought they would be open to negotiations and a fee for around €35-40 million could be accepted. #NUFC

This is simply embarrassing. We spent nearly £250m last summer, a lot of that on what have turned out to be poor signings overall. Quotes like these - and the assistant coach’s daughter taking on the fans on Instagram - is undoubtedly the beginning of the end of this #NUFC era.
