@WillHutch_ Hopoate for me move Smith to centre and put Thewlis on the wing.
Not sure I can forgive Hopoate as easily as others have for his defending at Headingley.
Can’t blame McNamara for wanting to coach his hometown club but it’s poor from Warrington who I’m sure will be hoping the Dublin announcement papers over some cracks.
Can’t help but feel we’re back to square one and I won’t be surprised if Burgess extends 🤦♂️
@Gaz_E@dan_murphy68 But you can’t be sure of that so you have to take what’s presented to you at the time, they’ve had ample opportunities over the years to get him and they haven’t.
@Jamie198738 No I agree with all of that & the where would he go question, isn't a Warrington issue really.
I assumed Steve would be our coach next season & this season was almost a 'head start'.
Eitherway, interesting times ahead.
@dan_murphy68 His NRL offers have dried up and the England job is part time so where can he go ?? If he’s asked the club can he stay I’m certain they’d offer him a new deal.
Not saying that’s happened but it’s plausible and McNamara isn’t going to play 2nd fiddle to an inexperienced coach
@Jamie198738 I thought (stupidly) Burgess would see the season out and Steve was nailed for next year, evidently I may now be well off the mark with it
@MattTurner_WG@WarringtonRLFC@warringtonnews Start Webster or don’t have him in the 17. If someone has a bad knock don’t play them.
You’ve got smith and Hopoate who can both cover centre/wing, Hopoate/Thewlis/Ashton can cover full back, if one of them goes down you just put Currie to centre, it’s not rocket science.
@SeanSpencer2004 “On Max Wood, the question is who do we leave out for him”
Should that even be a question ?? I’m beginning to think Joe Philbin has some incriminating Las Vegas news on Burgess.
