Over 300 cases of meningitis last year & nothing. 32 cases of meningitis this year with a population of over 70million & mass panic & mass vaccinations. Does anyone else think this is all a bit weird & very deja vu?

An indignant Laura Kuenssberg asks Communities Secretary Steve Reed. "why would Israel say something that is not true." Give me strength, where do you even start with this? #BBCLauraK

Britain has been a Christian nation for over 1,400 years. Through wars, plagues, and countless kings, Easter has always been celebrated. Yet now, Cadbury won’t even use the word ‘Easter’ on their eggs. When did celebrating British traditions become controversial?

And please don't forget that when we're talking about both wildfires or infections, there are firebreaks everywhere. There are roads and ploughed fields and rivers and lakes that stop wildfire spread. There are sewers and handwashing and staying home when sick and vaccines.

I rarely highlight disinformation but this post deliberately mixes half-truths to set the tone meningitis is not dangerous I’m worried many people I trust follow this account. (Example of how @bbchealth not manipulating & highlighting complexity here: bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…)

It is outrageous the way the BBC are manipulating people over meningitis. Everyone needs to see the contract at the end of this article. dearchurchleaders.substack.com/p/meningitis-m…

People have accused me of scaremongering about meningitis, which is really weird, because I haven't at any point said that I think this is going to spread wildly across the country. I just said that I thought we'd get more cases this winter, and we did.
tern@1goodtern

I'm just a bird, so my opinion isn't that important, but I don't think there's going to be a massive plague of meningitis B here. I think more people are more susceptible to it because many of their immune systems have been damaged by covid infections, so there'll be *more* of it. Not an infinite amount more, just more than we used to have. But that's bad enough.

Hey @sanofi, you're providing 600k nuvaxovid doses to NHS England this year. Can you provide some to private pharmacists too? Please? Pretty please. I'll have a shout round to get plenty of takers.

Of course, our minimizing public health folks will clutch their pearls, and gasp, "But no aerosol stability!" Faint away folks. It's been known to be hardy enough since 1968. journals.asm.org/doi/abs/10.112…
