Are you looking for peas to plant as a cover crop or to graze or hay? We just finished cleaning some forage peas and if what I have is not enough I know where theres a bin with more we can clean. TIA

@adegroot88 @BenjaminNething Yes there is nowhere to go but up. My guess is Idaho will be down more than 30k acres. Will it be enough to get the fresh growers above the cost of production? Probably not.

@JasonHowell10 @BenjaminNething Confident in my prediction that potato prices will be higher in 2026/27, unless they somehow can go negative in ID. I would not put it past them tho 😂

@CowBizGuy I understand that they use optics on the fry lines after cooking to sort out sugar ends that turned too black. But once again its more end of the line not at the beginning

@dustfrmer @farmernate @NWSPocatello We do know we will not have 100% of our water though. We pay premiums that factor all of this BS in the policy and it is there specifically for years like this. Have you ever tried growing potatoes without water in a desert?

@farmernate @JasonHowell10 @NWSPocatello I’m sorry. But that is complete bull shit. When I am bone dry I am 💯 short of water. Snow pack sucks, but there is no way to know at this point if you are short of water. So far I have heard of no water calls or fight yet. Reservoirs look adequate to me. Maybe it rains

@dustfrmer @farmernate @NWSPocatello In an irrigated situation where you are short of water enough to adequately grow the crop you can do PP. getting PP for grains for being late is almost impossible. The barley end plant date up there is June 10.

@farmernate @JasonHowell10 @NWSPocatello Ok. You guys want to explain to me what part of being a month early qualifies for PP? In 23 when we had snow until early April I was told PP was not an option. In falls where I am too dry to get any wheat up, I am told PP is not an option. What gives in this case?

@JasonHowell10 @NWSPocatello Great question. My experience backed up by data says our last frost has a much higher chance of staying in the same time frame. Convo w friend says he's always waited and watched others struggle with crust from late snow/rain. The PP might be a good option if available
