Sylvinho actually prepared the team well. After suffering for the first 10 minutes, we became the "better" side in the first half. But "better" is a stretch; Poland was simply abysmal, making massive errors in their buildup. Laçi, Uzuni, and Asllani pressed high and effectively, rattling the Polish midfield. This led to several counter-attacks, most of which were wasted by poor decision-making from Arber Hoxha. He had a miserable game overall, though his goal was a moment of individual brilliance (even if he profited from a defensive blunder). At halftime, the plan was working: control, clinical finishing, and defensive stability. The 60th minute changed everything. Nedim Bajrami had the 2-0 on his boot but sent it into the stands. Moments later, clinical class punished us. Lewandowski scored a replica of his recent goal against Newcastle. The defense simply wasn't sharp enough. This was the moment for a bold reaction, but Sylvinho showed a lack of courage. Bringing on Pilo (a LB) to play Hoxha’s attacking role felt like playing for the 1-1 draw rather than going for the kill against a vulnerable Poland. Pilo did his best and forced a great save from Grabara, but the criticism should fall on the coach, not the player. Sylvinho can prepare a game, but his in-game coaching is his Achilles' heel. He plays "zero-risk" football. His teams don't do "Remontadas" because he refuses to go all-in, even when losing. Why start a Bajrami (1 goal contribution this season) over Anis Mehmeti or Ernest Muçi, who have 40+ combined goal involvements? Sylvinho’s loyalty to out-of-form players is baffling. It’s time for a fresh start and new energy on the bench. I’m grateful to the Brazilian for the stability he brought, but there was more potential in this squad that remained untapped.

You see a lot claims that Venezuela has nothing to do with drugs because most of the fentanyl comes from elsewhere. I want to address this: First off, fentanyl isn't the only drug in the world and there is still fentanyl coming from Venezuela (or at least there was). Second, cocaine, which is the main drug trafficked out of Venezuela, is a profit center for all of the Latin America cartels. If you cut out the money from cocaine (or even reduce it) you substantially weaken the cartels overall. Also, cocaine is bad too! Third, yes, a lot of fentanyl is coming out of Mexico. That continues to be a focus of our policy in Mexico and is a reason why President Trump shut the border on day one. Fourth, I see a lot of criticism about oil. About 20 years ago, Venezuela expropriated American oil property and until recently used that stolen property to get rich and fund their narcoterrorist activities. I understand the anxiety over the use of military force, but are we just supposed to allow a communist to steal our stuff in our hemisphere and do nothing? Great powers don't act like that. The United States, thanks to President Trump's leadership, is a great power again. Everyone should take note.
