Spring Break in Miami Beach has been safe, orderly, and enjoyable -- and that is no accident. We put strong public safety measures in place, expanding our police enforcement along with State, Sheriff and neighboring cities law enforcement partners. We worked with the business community to activate fitness competitions and investment conferences. For three years running, @MiamiBeachNews remains welcoming -- and safe.

From day one, my administration has made law and order the top priority in @MiamiBeachNews, and Chief Jones has delivered real results. Since 2023, we’ve driven a significant reduction in major crime, accomplished the lowest homeless census count in city’s history, achieved full police staffing for the first time in decades, and restored order during spring break. This is what a clear vision and strong leadership look like — and we will continue our enforcement measures to make Miami Beach the safest city in America.

Miami Beach continues to break records! This time for highest ever total resort tax collections for the month of January. Our hospitality industry is thriving as growth increased 10.2% in January 2026 as compared to January 2025. @MiamiBeachNews also had a 12.7% year-over-year increase in food & beverage collections and a 9.0% increase in room rental collections compared to last year. This marks four consecutive months of growth as compared to the two prior years. Miami Beach is the place to be!

Our newly renovated La Gorce Park on 64th and Alton now gives our residents of @MiamiBeachNews 22 playground options among our 45 parks citywide, along with two municipal golf courses. [miamibeachfl.gov/city-hall/park…] Through our General Obligation Bond program, we continue investing in parks and recreation across our city so every neighborhood has public spaces to enjoy the outdoors.

Miami Beach honored ten remarkable women as we celebrate Women’s History Month. These exemplary women represent leadership in law enforcement, medicine, education, science, music and arts and culture. Thank you to the Miami Beach Commission for Women for leading this meaningful celebration. I visited @FutureProof_HQ, where leaders in finance, tech, and AI are discussing the future of financial services. Taking place through March 11, the conference transforms our beach into a hub for conversations, networking, and innovation. @MiamiBeachNews is now THE destination for business and global ideas!

Our latest Homeless Trust census count is the lowest amount of homeless individuals in Miami Beach’s history! Read more in Miami's Community Newspapers [bit.ly/LowestCount]. Our current count is 60% lower than January 2023 and continues a downward trend for the past three years. For more information: [bit.ly/Jan2026census]. We are a compassionate city that leads with services first. Our dedicated homeless outreach teams are active every day, and shelter placements and reunification efforts are also making a real difference. At the same time, we continue to enforce our anti-camping laws to protect neighborhoods, parks, and public spaces. While there is more work to do our balanced approach is working big time!

What an incredible way to celebrate International Women’s Day with Malka “Mollie” Horwitz who turns 110 years young. Malka is a living inspiration escaping Hitler and the Nazis during the Holocaust while saving her son. Malka then moved to Cuba ultimately fleeing the Castro regime and starting her new life in America. Last year I celebrated Malka’s magnificent life by awarding her with the Miami Beach resident of the year award at my State of the City. Malka and five generations of her family celebrated in grand style today in @MiamiBeachNews. Malka makes it abundantly clear the secret to her longevity and incredible life: "it's G-d's blessings.”

Excessive vehicular muffler and exhaust noise continues to be a leading concern I hear from residents. I brought a legislative initiative passed last week that requires enhanced enforcement [bit.ly/MSMnoiseEnforc…]. This includes police vehicle(s) every night from 10pm-5am issuing citations for excessive noise such as illegal mufflers. Locations include 5th Street off the McArther, 41st Street and Indian Drive/Colins Ave and 71st Street. Protecting our quality life by enforcing against booming illegal noise throughout our city, especially at night is a high priority.

Miami Beach is attracting serious investment and capital! I visited the #GlobalAltsMiami conference at the Convention Center last week, where leaders in alternative investments and global capital to the tune of $55 Trillion in assets gathered in our city to discuss ideas for future investment and growth.

Miami Beach is officially the #1 city in the nation for hotel metrics, finishing first in Average Daily Rate (ADR), Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR) and Occupancy for January 2026! 📈 ADR (Room Rate): $366 a night, an 11.5% increase from last January  📈 RevPAR: $292 a night, a massive 16.3% increase over last year and 24% higher than the second place city  📈 Occupancy: 79.8%, a 4.3% increase compared to January 2025. @MiamiBeachNews is back in a big way! These numbers are a key indicator and a testament to the hard work of our city and hospitality industry to enhance the appeal of our world-class destination.
