@GordonGChang He needs to stop poking his nose in random affairs and stick to the faith. I have no obligation to agree with his views on issues outside the faith

@ChairmanSelig How is it the CFTC’s remit to regulate sports betting and gambling/gaming ? That is specifically what is happening. They’re using the CFTC to bypass state laws on sports betting. This is just gambling in all but name
English

Event contracts listed on CFTC-registered exchanges are derivatives subject to the CFTC’s exclusive regulatory authority. Whether the contract’s underlying event is sports, politics, corn, or grain, it trades on a federally-regulated exchange with an order book, clearing house, and investor protections. 🚨 LMAO! President Trump says NATO just called him offering to help with the Strait of Hormuz — MINUTES AFTER he and the Iranians announced its full reopening
And President Trump told them to GET LOST 🤣
What a USELESS organization
“Now that the Hormuz Strait situation is over, I received a call from NATO asking if we would need some help. I TOLD THEM TO STAY AWAY, UNLESS THEY JUST WANT TO LOAD UP THEIR SHIPS WITH OIL. They were useless when needed, a Paper Tiger!”

The Obama Axelrod Pope Leo backlash continues & I love it.
Their miscalculation of planned division is one for the history books
The world is now calling into question who the Pope is, why he was selected and why is a communist representing God's people?
These questions are from Catholics too which makes this more of a miraculous blessing.
The God of the universe revealing himself through these discussions is an answer to prayer for millions.
Critical thinking = good
Blind Allegiance = bad

I am Catholic, and it saddens me not to see Pope Leo XIV in Nigeria or the Congo denouncing the genocide of Christians, instead of getting into discussions with Trump about the war in Iran.
We Catholics need a pope who addresses the suffering of Christians around the world, not a Democratic political activist who campaigns against Trump.

Regarding Pope Leo IV's ongoing simping for and evangelizing of Islam...
I understand in this capacity these naively dangerous statements from this pope are not considered authoritative (or ex cathedra), but he is clearly abusing this privilege and on a mission to disarm what remains of the West. If he said these things as Robert Prevost, no one would care. IMO he is obviously using his capacity as the pope to spread this cultural suicide note, and doing so subversively so that discerning Catholics (who may rebuke him) instead feel compelled to defend his office by pointing out "he's not speaking for The Church" -- when it's pretty clear this pope intends to speak for that and a lot more.
Bottom line: he's intentionally and subversively seeking a crevice here that permits him to speak with the authority of his office, while simultaneously permitting the claim he's not.

REPORTER: "There was a group of bishops that did put out a statement saying the Pope isn't merely exercising his opinion, he's preaching the Gospel. What do you say to people that do this?"
PRESIDENT TRUMP: "I want him to preach the Gospel. I'm all about the Gospel. But I also know that you cannot let a certain country, which is a very mean-spirited country, have a nuclear weapon."
"If they did, they would use it. And I think they use it quickly and they would kill many millions of people."
"The Pope could disagree with me on that, but certainly we're allowed to have that. I'm all about the Gospel. I'm about it as much as anybody can be."

Trump went after the Pope and I thought, this president is not backing down from anyone. And you know what, there is a reason Donald Trump has dominated the news cycle for a decade and a half, survived everything they threw at him, had an election taken from him in 2020 and came back anyway.
People like this do not show up by accident. I believe to my soul they are an answer to prayer. God chooses the rough ones exactly because they will do the hard job that the polished and proper will never touch.
Samson was out there clubbing Philistines and the religious crowd wanted an elegant Isaiah in the palace courts. God sent a deliverer instead. He always does. And it never looks the way people expect.

I respectfully disagree with the @Pontifex He is regrettably ignoring the incompatibility of Islam with Christianity.
Our Pope unfortunately has accepted the ideology of empathetic civilizational self-destruction.

Pope Leo grew up in Chicago. I grew up in Lebanon. I wasn't forced to leave Lebanon because there was peaceful coexistence. I was forced to leave Lebanon because Islamic terrorists blew up my home and killed many of the people I grew up with. I wish the Pope would talk to the persecuted Lebanese before making ignorant statements about countries he knows very little about.

Lebanon literally had a 15-year-long civil war because the Muslims couldn't bear to coexist with the Christians.
Bonchie@bonchieredstate
The fact that he keeps using Lebanon as a positive example of Muslims and Christians living together, when the Christian population there has been persecuted and reduced to just 30% of the country, is an issue. He seems to always grade Islam on a curve.

🚨 PRESIDENT TRUMP JUST TOLD POPE LEO:
"I'm all ABOUT the Gospel. I'm all about it as much as anybody can be!"
"I want them to preach the gospel. But I also know that you cannot let a certain country, which is a very mean-spirited country, have a nuclear weapon."

"So, you know, the Pope could disagree with me on that, but certainly we're allowed to have that."
"I can't allow, as President of the United States of America, I can't allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon."
"And here's the story. They won't have. They've already agreed not to have. That's good news, and I think the Pope will be very happy."
