It’s National Agriculture Week! Our farmers are the backbone of our country’s success. As a farmer myself, I understand just how much effort and sacrifice is needed to feed and fuel America. From one farmer to another, thank you.

This week we celebrate National Agriculture Week—honoring the farmers who feed and fuel our country. Representing one of the largest agricultural districts in the nation is an honor. From working with USDA leaders to fighting for Iowa producers in the Farm Bill, I will always stand up for our farmers. Today and every day, we thank them for their work to keep America fed.

For too long, Iowa hog farmers have faced uncertainty because of California’s Prop 12. This unfair mandate lets one state dictate how farmers across the country raise livestock. A single disease outbreak can devastate our flocks and herds—and threaten our ability to sell high-quality American products around the world. That’s why the Farm Bill includes my SAFE Act to secure regionalization agreements so an outbreak in one part of the country doesn’t halt exports from places like Iowa.

Food for Peace started in Kansas and has fed millions around the world. After over a year of working with the Trump Administration, our 2026 Farm Bill moves the program to USDA, its rightful home, so there is more accountability for taxpayer dollars, and American farmers remain at the center of feeding a hungry world.

.@OhioAgriBiz stopped by my office last week during their Ag Retailers fly in, and it was great to talk with them about the impact the Farm Bill will have on their industry. The Farm Bill, which I was proud to help pass out of @HouseAgGOP last week, will reduce permitting burdens, modernize crop insurance and credit programs, and expand rural capital, directly helping ag business thrive. I will continue pushing for robust legislation that supports Buckeye farmers, producers, and agriculture business, and I urge Congress to pass the Farm Bill ASAP!

This "Farm Bill 2.0" equips farmers with voluntary tools like biochar research to boost productivity.
