I encourage people to do what they can to make the world a little bit better. Every few years it works. Tweets are my own opinion.

Hidden on page 744 of the farm bill the House Agriculture Committee passed Thursday is a provision that would condemn millions of pigs to a lifetime in gestation crates. Rebranded the 'Save Our Bacon Act,' it's a pork-industry play to wipe out every state law banning the sale of pork from crated pigs — laws the conservative Supreme Court upheld in 2023. Over 85% of Democrats and Republicans oppose these crates. Voters have backed ballot measures to ban them in state after state. The pork industry knows it can't win a straight vote on this. So it's burying the provision in an 800-page bill and hoping no one notices. Contact your senators and representative today and tell them: oppose the farm bill unless the Save Our Bacon Act is stripped out. You can reach them at senate.gov and house.gov — it takes two minutes and it matters.

Speaking about the Utah 2034 Olympic Winter Games, Olympic champion (speed skating) @ErinJackson480 told the IOC membership: "In Utah, athletes are supported not just by facilities, but by people." Listen in to why she believes this culture matters, for @utah2034 👇

I've washed my car and still no significant snow. Utah, either we all need to wash our cars simultaneously & then do a little snow dance, or maybe the snow gods are telling us something about being good custodians of the environment? Either way, it is time for winter! @SkiUtah

@SenMikeLee Your tone is unbecoming of the office you hold, the government we believe in, the democracy we fight for, and the country we love. Represent Utah better, sir. All of Utah. Those who agree with you and those who do not.

Important reminder: Democrats aren’t just shutting down the government so your tax dollars can support illegals. They want your tax dollars to fund abortions and trans surgeries too.

I know. I know there is so much more than this right now. But for those who need to take a deep breath before taking one more step toward that more perfect union, find comfort in fat bear week. explore.org/fat-bear-week

@carolinegleich Hi! I’m pretty sure today’s no kings protest is tonight , rally at 6 and march at 7. There were early protests at the U and another protest downtown related to flag day, I believe.

A massive crowd — likely more than 7,000 strong — showed up in Salt Lake City for the No Kings protest to say loud and clear: No kings. No dictators. Just democracy. #utpol #NoKingsDay #NoKingsProtest

@SenMDBrown Out of morbid curiosity - what was the complaint or violation cited? This seems fundamentally wrong.

Took down the sign today as ordered by DC gov after is has stood without complaint for 4 years. If "Democracy dies in Darkness" we just turned off the lights on DC statehood. The disenfranchised must never capitulate. We should explain that to the cowards that run our city. Sad

@SenMikeLee @PressSec Sen. Lee: One of your primary issues is "family". If I decide to marry, which I did, and change my name, which I did, then how should the government ensure my constitutional right to vote. Because, Sen. Lee, you should not want to throw up these barriers.

Thank you for supporting my SAVE Act, @PressSec! The time for secure elections is NOW. Only citizens should be able to register and vote.
Rapid Response 47@RapidResponse47

.@PressSec: The SAVE Act is a commonsense measure. It would require proof of citizenship for voting in our elections. The Democrats have been fearmongering about this bill, have been saying if married women change their name, they would not be able to vote. That is complete fallacy.

@a_brendhan43391 @lmhracer @erikellis1 @KellDA I appreciate that each person on this exchange has an opinion, but so much of it seems like hate bait. Why not listen (really)/share an opinion, care for one another, refrain from name calling and telling each other what their 'side' is like? Take a moment. Research? Care?
