@PaulSimonMusic Hello, I’m trying to find out how I can get permission to use a line from a Paul Simon song in a story collection and can’t find the information or a contact online. I’m just trying here in hopes of finding information. Thank you!

I finally met Anne Carson and told her she was my favorite and she nodded and very gently said, “Oh, well, now that’s over with.” I think she may have murdered me? Can’t find a pulse.

@jamesamarcus Thank you for looking it up! JSTOR is great. So is North American Review. Emerson really means so much to me.
English

@JenniferLSears I just got your essay off JSTOR, God bless them. It looks tremendous and I'm going to read the whole thing right away.

@DavveroDomini @SalmanRushdie Alas! I’ll let Massimo know about it though....he’s teaching that month at the University of Turin.

@JenniferLSears @SalmanRushdie Buon soggiorno! Purtroppo, però, sarei tardo per il bello Salone…

Coming up, in Italy, the annual literary event #SaloneDelLibro Torino. Only gotten there once, myself, & not this year either-- but @ArkadiaEditore, who'll publish my TALKING HEADS: 77 this August, will have my picture. /Grazie tante a tutti./

English

@DavveroDomini @SalmanRushdie Grazie! Mio marito è di Roma, e sarà in Torino per tutto il mese di Maggio. Io solo l’ultima settimana. Lui sa l’italiano bene.

@JenniferLSears @SalmanRushdie Bisogna sapere Italiano bene, di solito…

@jamesamarcus I’ll look up Hanlon’s book! I published an essay, “Emerson’s Egypt,” which considered his lifelong preoccupation with Egypt and the Temple of Isis/Philae. An ecstatic sleuthing trip though his journals and letters and his daughter’s letters. Aunt Mary also haunts a few lines.
English

@JenniferLSears You're very welcome! I'm intrigued by your interest in late-life Emerson--a rich vein indeed, and in my case, definitely transformed by reading Christopher Hanlon's "Emerson's Memory Loss." Marvelous book.
