@jamesamarcus I’ll look up Hanlon’s book! I published an essay, “Emerson’s Egypt,” which considered his lifelong preoccupation with Egypt and the Temple of Isis/Philae. An ecstatic sleuthing trip though his journals and letters and his daughter’s letters. Aunt Mary also haunts a few lines.

@JenniferLSears You're very welcome! I'm intrigued by your interest in late-life Emerson--a rich vein indeed, and in my case, definitely transformed by reading Christopher Hanlon's "Emerson's Memory Loss." Marvelous book.
