Interconnectedness of policy + parents + funding + high-quality teacher training + evidence-based curriculum and instruction + coaching for quality implementation + a community-wide culture of literacy is what it will take to lead to the change we need.

@NicholasFerroni We @EastEpo in Rochester, NY have a Teaching and Learning Institute as a high school career education pathway for students in grades 9-12. It includes a sequence of 4 courses, one each year of high school. The Junior and Senior year courses are approved for dual credit.

Dear Educators, I am curious how many of you have a program or class where high school students can prepare to pursue education in college? A course for students who want to be teachers and possibly even receive college credit.

For change to flourish you need to create a school culture that understands growth is a never-ending process. There is and never will be one "best" way to do things.

An arts education is essential to the whole of education. Art heals. Art inspires. Art engages. It shapes our thinking, and it moves us to action. Raising the bar in education must include the arts.
