@TheDZoneBBall@avondale_hoops@maxmuhl26 Proud to be a Yellow Jacket. Proud of these Avondale legends for having the poise to answer questions after a heartbreaker. Thanks for posting.
Rockford defense stands tall on Avondale’s final possession. Rams advance to the Division 1 title game tomorrow with a 38-35 win over Avondale.
Will play the winner of East Lansing-Brother Rice, which is up next
@PSchrags When a game is 7-7 late in the 2nd quarter, you have to assume 1st team to 20 wins. FG's becomes more valuable depending on expected point totals.
For years, people who've done actual data and statistical analysis have urged for more coaches to go for it on 4th down.
It feels like more games than ever are now decided by a field goal or less. New kickoff rules, too.
Will the pendulum swing back to just taking the points?
🚨🚨INSANE STAT🚨🚨
#Patriots quarterback Drake Maye has MORE PLAYOFF WINS than the Detroit #Lions entire franchise during the Super Bowl era.
🤯🤯🤯
Maye is only 23 years old in his second season: Three wins
Detroit in franchise history: Three
Bonkers.

Snowfall rates of 1 -2” per hour are being reported in and around the NYC area, spreading into parts of Southern New England.
Already have a couple reports of some sleet mixing in with the snow in parts of central NJ. @DanManWX
@SharpFootball When there's a 99% chance you can double your points and decrease the deficit by 42% on the same play, that's the move. If the score was 28-21, that's a different discussion.
the Steelers have a creative rush push for a reason
but at the 1-yard line they decide to FLIP IT BACKWARDS TO A RB STANDING AT THE 9 YARD LINE
WTF IS THAT
@RobbySabo The 2025 stat includes the Morton led offense for 8 weeks that was top 5 in Time of Possession with a 5-3 record. If you sort that graph by "Last 3" you'll find the Lions at 29th.
Listen, I know I'm not a Detroit Lions individual, but I keep seeing the same ridiculous argument that they don't miss Ben Johnson because they're still third in OYPG and second in PPG. My goodness, man, it's about TIME OF POSSESSION, which is the result of efficiency (on so many levels), and is the thing that drives the most success in today's NFL (helps the D, plays the RZ-to-RZ game, etc.).
TOP is the key, what they're missing the most this season (that careful consideration of wanting to churn out time while doing the scoring thing). That's the whole deal in today's league, with these rules.
Today's league is not simply about scoring the most points and/or gaining the most yards; it's about doing that WHILE ALSO dictating the terms of the game. It's why yards-per-completion is still at an all-time low, and it's why older QBs who "manage the game" can churn out success (which some of the analytics folks need to realize, and stop penalizing QBs so drastically for shorter completions; it's INTENTIONAL in a lot of cases).
@wendellfp@Brennen_Rupp Lions would do everything in their power to keep Ben Johnson from the #1 seed. Dan Campbell teams are masters in channeling Spite.
@ErmanniMedia Packers might be rolling out their 3rd string QB vs a desperate Ravens team, then play the Vikings who only care about beating one team all year, the Packers. Lions will get the Bears 3rd stringers in week 18, so I think if Lions win on Christmas, they make the playoffs.
Watching the Alabama comeback and remembering telling people the 12 team playoff won't spread around National Championships, it just gives the Blue Bloods more mulligans. 3 loss National Champion is a real possibility.
