@th55309464 @GabSutton We were the worst team I have seen play this season in the first half. Truly terrible and so lucky that you didn't take your chances. Do that against most teams and would be out of the game
English

@GabSutton He got cut open 5 times first half and was lucky to be playing the worst finishing side in recent football history. Second half got it bang on, but was lucky to be 0-0 at half time
English

@craigbromf @MTFCMusings Agree entirely. He will be a good squad addition

@itsjohncrotty Thank you for this, a good read but an expensive list of books you have given me to search out. A total blind spot for me so will look forward to reading them

Those trying to discredit Ireland are forced to turn to long disproven fabrications of Ireland's role in WW2
They make false claims about Ireland's true actions, from German aid to returning soldiers to national sentiment, its all made up, twisted, conflated...
They want to imply Ireland 'sat it out', when Britain's mistreatment of Ireland & poisonous partition of the island is what made this the correct, only course of action.
Regardless, Ireland managed to contribute all it could to the Allied cause, rationing its own resources, not limiting the flow of its much needed manpower, in sole support of the Allied cause.
Churchill, Britain and the Commonwealth deserve endless praise for their WW2 role, being the only initial resistance to Hitler's Germany.
The criticism of others involved, or not involved, in World War 2 should be reserved solely for the Axis powers, and not the small nations lost in yet another World War not of their making

English

Tell me you don't know anything about Irish history without telling me you don't know anything about Irish history
People like Jamie were brought up on a diet of lies & hatred regarding the island they were born in
No, Ireland's role in WW2 wasn't shameful - far from it in fact, as Ireland aided Britain & the Allies completely while navigating difficult politics at home - politics made challenging by British policy.
Declassification has shown it was the right decision, aiding the Allies covertly rather than openly, a fact agreed with completely by British intelligence MI5
Here are the facts (1)

It’s important to remember that whilst the United Kingdom fought to free Europe, Ireland remained ‘neutral’ in the fight against Hitler. A shameful episode for that country.

@RobertJenrick Perhaps it would be better if you spent a day in own constituency and tried to sort the hospital your party allowed to decline when you were in government or perhaps find solutions for SEND crisis in local schools.

@skipmcoy_ @ProudStags My view is that we should be looking to make signings in this window with next season in mind. This is largely to get players we want in and give them time to embed. There is a lot of business to do before next September
English

@ProudStags Cant see us being desperate to make signings, theyre good enough to stay up and spend wisely in the summer making more changes than we;ve seen in the last 3 years
English

Shocking first half and opening second half, probably one of the worst performance we’ve seen for a long time.
We need to sign at least 2 more players this transfer window.
Anyway, our goal was to stay up! Onwards and upwards to Crawley at home on Tuesday!

NEW - Jonathan Powell, Blair's former chief of staff and architect of the Good Friday Agreement, back in No10 as Starmer's National Security Adviser. Big beefing up of the Downing St operation. Scoop with William Wallis

@MrEFinch @HeatherBellaF Also the binary nature of education debates makes me remember why I am sadly pleased to be out of it all
English

@HeatherBellaF As others have said. Really not true. Also, unhelpful.
English

@MrEFinch @HeatherBellaF I presumed the poster was talking about 2004 not 2014 - that said we all know it was not unacceptable in schools.
The education world was different, the emphasis towards a knowledge based curriculum was only just starting but the claim is not reflective of schools I knew then

@karamballes Those of us, infected by kids in schools, who went on to develop serious symptoms including long covid will be watching her testimony very closely

Harries was definitely one of the worst performers, getting pretty much every call wrong and still failing to acknowledge mistakes, considering she is head of UKHSA the buck stops with her

This coming week at the Covid Inquiry could prove pretty interesting with Prof Dame Jenny (‘children are more likely to be hit by a bus than catch Covid’) Harries taking the stand on Wednesday AND Thursday. I wonder what she’ll have to say about the infection control debacle…?
