Hate me if you want, but CM Punk probably should’ve stayed retired. I was one of the biggest supporters of his return. I genuinely wanted to see it happen, and I’ll even admit I marked out hard when he debuted in AEW. But at some point, you have to be honest and admit when you were wrong. Since coming back, he really hasn’t delivered a truly solid match not in AEW, and definitely not in WWE. The feud with Drew McIntyre was a mess. The whole bracelet storyline felt ridiculous, and the matches themselves just didn’t hold up. I felt the same way about his triple threat match last year, it just didn’t hit. At this point, it feels like Punk has lost a step. He was once one of the best in the world, but now he comes across as past his prime and a bit out of touch. Honestly, it might be time for him to hang it up for good.
