When I was 11, I told myself I’d never go through a school shooting. When I was 12, I told myself it would never happen again. Now I’m freshly 20, and I’ve once more been proven wrong. First Parkland, now Brown University. My safe haven away from my trauma.

As we await + info, I can’t 🛑 thinking abt the Brown undergrad who spoke @ the AWB press conference. She’d been shot at a mass shooting in grade school & was committed 2 advocating against gun violence in college+. She’s now had to suffer this trauma 2Xs in 2 decades of life.
