New preprint: “Three-Sided Testing to Establish Practical Significance: A Tutorial” (osf.io/preprints/psya…) with @FitzgeraldJack_. We give a non-technical intro to an upgraded version of the TOST equivalence test, and show how to run and interpret such tests in practice🧵

List of high-level Alzheimer's researchers accused of credible fraud:🧵 #1 - Marc Tessier-Lavigne Genentech pointed out problems in his 2009 Nature paper in 2012. After an expose by @tab_delete, he had to resign from Stanford Presidency, but can still run lab and do research.

What happens when we break down DSM diagnoses into their individual symptoms and rebuild our classification system from the ground up? Do we see familiar DSM constructs, HiTOP dimensions, or something else entirely? New paper out today! ✨ journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/21… 1/🧵

The attitude that helps most with intense stress is not mindfulness. It’s hope. In hard times, it’s overwhelming to live only in the present. What brings strength is anticipating a brighter future. Resilience lies in remembering that today's burdens may be lighter tomorrow.

Old but good (2016): "we perform a 2,000 user, 250,000 trial online experiment to study the effects of slider appearance [Likert vs VAS]. We find that decorations along the slider considerably bias the distribution of responses" dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/28…

We are happy to release the first results of a RCT of a US program that provided $1,000/month unconditionally for 3 years to 1,000 individuals in the treatment group, with a group of 2,000 people receiving $50/month serving as the control. These are sizable transfers. 1/ 🧵
