Today, I participated in the leadership retreat at the National Leadership Institute, Kyankwanzi, alongside fellow leaders from @NRMOnline and Members of Parliament elected to the 12th Parliament. Additionally, I delivered a presentation to the leaders regarding the role of Parliament, its processes, and the management of public expectations. I sincerely thank all my fellow MPs-elect for their overwhelming support; I am truly grateful to all of you.

The practice of carrying excess passengers especially in the front seats in a manner that interferes with the driver is a serious traffic violation. This behavior compromises safe driving & greatly increases the risk of road crashes which can lead to loss of lives As we issue this notice, several drivers including those displayed here have been apprehended & are currently in police custody pending court proceedings However, enforcement alone is not enough. We have observed that some drivers deliberately avoid checkpoints & police deployments by using alternative routes. In some cases passengers knowingly cooperate by disembarking before checkpoints & rejoining the vehicles afterward allowing the violation to continue #Goingforward 1. Drivers are hereby directed to immediately stop carrying passengers in a manner that interferes with safe driving 2. There will be no on-the-spot penalties. Offenders will be arrested, detained & taken to court 3. Passengers, act responsibly. Do not board overloaded vehicles or those operating in violation of safety regulations, even in the interest of saving time or money @PoliceUg remains fully committed to protecting lives on the road. Through continuous & routine enforcement, we hope to eliminate all dangerous practices that put road users at risk Road safety is everyone’s responsibility
