Veteran guard Robert Jones is signing with the 49ers, sources tell The Insiders. Jones played in 49 games (30 starts) for the Dolphins before signing with Dallas, where he missed last season because of a neck injury. He’s healthy now and headed to San Francisco.

Christian Kirk had receptions in the Wild Card round where he was clocked at 20.05, 19.64, and 19.13 miles per hour. Those would have been three of the four fastest times for any 49ers ball carrier last season.

For the record @KP_Show, the only reason the cap hit is $20 million in the “first” void year is because that’s all four void years combined, because the other three void years accelerate to the cap on the 2029 void date. If broken down by each void year, it’s actually closer to $7m, $7m, $4m, $4m in 2029-2032

Former Falcons free-agent LB Arnold Ebiketie is signing a one-year, $7.3 million max deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, including $4.3 million fully guaranteed, per Damarius Bilbo of @KlutchSports. Ebiketie had eight sacks the past two seasons, and the Eagles are hoping for more of the same.

@joegreene916 I think it's more connecting the dots and trying to read the tea leaves. We have not seen him operate with the DL that's about to take the field. I'd be willing to give him a chance on a rookie deal. I'm with you.

If the idea is to pivot off Renardo Green, I'd take Keith Abney at 27 over the other top CBs. He's the real deal.
A.J. Haulcy seems like a Raheem Morris type. But that's Day 2.

@49erstakes the way he wins is the most NFL of any WR. all power. It's easy. I love him. And he beat NFL guys in college. I don't think he has issues running routes at all

@andrewburt11 The answer was Monroe Freeling but he's not lasting to 27 after that combine. Max Iheanachor and Kadyn Proctor can. Lomu, but the lack of power worries me. His athleticism/movement skills are 1st roundish though

@JoshTropea Thieneman probably ran himself into the top 20. McNeil-Warren might go earlier too if he runs better at his pro day. If the latter falls he is a Day 1 football player. It will come down to how Morris prioritizes the position. *I* would rather CB>S only because of the talent pool

@Ad49Ers Trent's likely looking at a 1-year deal that's dressed up. You can draft a tackle and play him at LG. Brendel's deal is up after this season. McKivitz's deal is basically year to year after 2026. Zoom out and think beyond the upcoming season. They need to be proactive

We're a year removed from Odighizuwa finishing the 2024 season with the most pressures of any DT in the second half of the season by 5(!) and the Cowboys turning around and giving him top 12ish DT $$. Only 3 players had more QB knockdowns in '25. 93rd percentile wingspan and 86 percentile hand size is what wins in the NFL and he's proven that.
This is a move the 49ers needed to make to keep pace with the top teams in the NFC. For a 3rd round pick he's worth being wrong about.
