@chinafutureclub China has developed with a central role for state owned banks, support form state owned enterprises at different levels of production, and comprehensive economic planning. The idea that competition alone will save US automakers isn't true. Doesn't really explain China's rise.

Americans NOT being able to buy Chinese EVs is going to destroy the American car industry. If you shelter American car manufacturers from competition, the Chinese companies will lap them so badly that entire legacy car brands will disappear. It’s already happening in Japan!
