A couple of weeks ago, AbbyPD patrol officers responded to a report of a 40‑year‑old man yelling and disrupting patrons inside a local coffee shop, causing a disturbance that ultimately required a police response. When officers arrived to determine the root of the issue, he explained that he was upset because the barista did not leave room in his cup for cream. Officers de‑escalated the situation, and the man was removed from the business. No injuries, no criminal charges—just another reminder that you truly can’t make these types of calls up. Let’s hope he was just having a bad day. #CallsFromTheFrontline

@AbbyPoliceDept It’s not a Park N Ride anymore but more a dumping ground for defunct RV’s and an eyesore for the residents of Abbotsford and those travelling through.

Road Closure - North Parallel Road is currently closed in both directions between Whatcom Road and Fooks Road for a RV and Vehicle fire at the Whatcom Road Park and Ride. No injuries have been reported. Multiple first responders on scene.

On Tuesday, March 17th at 9:21 a.m., AbbyPD officers responded to a robbery at a gas station in the 2000 block of Clearbrook Road. During the incident, the suspect threatened staff with a weapon before fleeing with cash and merchandise. Officers arrived quickly and began searching for the suspect, who had fled on a bicycle. Within minutes, one of our Traffic Officers located him. When the officer attempted to stop the suspect, he refused to stop—an unwise decision on his part. The pursuit concluded when the suspect ran out of roadway after the officer blocked his path with a police vehicle, forcing him off his bike. Forty-one-year-old Kevin Oakley was arrested and has been charged with Robbery, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, and Obstructing a Peace Officer. All stolen items were recovered, and the staff member involved was not injured. AbbyPD remains committed to ensuring those responsible for criminal activity are brought before the courts. #PublicSafetyMatters
