57 seconds. This whole incident is tragic, but the sole reason it wasn’t worse was because APD officers responded and were on scene in seconds. Patrol officers and CAST (team of APD officers and ATCEMS paramedics together) moved with incredible speed to stop the killing. Our hearts go out to all those affected by this both victims and family. The utterly amazing statistic in this all is that when seconds count - officers ran towards the gunfire and were there in 57seconds. That’s a heroic speed.

NEW: Woman in the Swiss ski bar fire says she witnessed a miracle, says the flames completely avoided her friend, who sat down with a cross in his hand when he became trapped. "A friend of mine couldn’t get out, and he just sat down and held his cross in his hand." "The fire just avoided him. The fire didn't touch him. The fire was all around him but not on him." Praise God.

There was a line from Zohran Mamdani’s inaugural address yesterday that took my breath away. He said he intended to replace “the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism.” Collectivism in its various forms is responsible for the deaths of at least one hundred million people in the last century. Socialist and Communist forms of government around the world today—Venezuela, Cuba, North Korea, etc.—are disastrous. Catholic social teaching has consistently condemned socialism and has embraced the market economy, which people like Mayor Mamdani caricature as “rugged individualism.” In fact, it is the economic system that is based upon the rights, freedom, and dignity of the human person. For God’s sake, spare me the “warmth of collectivism.”

For decades, Jackson, MS Local 87 has been without a collectively bargained contract. Not anymore. Local 87 and city leaders agree that a stronger fire service means a safer Jackson for residents and fire fighters. Their new contract helps deliver on that promise.

If the “Ceasefire Now” crowd is not celebrating this ceasefire, maybe it was never a ceasefire they wanted all along.

Cardinal Dolan says he spent the past week studying Charlie Kirk’s life, and the more he learned, the more he saw him as a modern-day Saint Paul. A fearless missionary, a passionate evangelist, and a true hero. “When I heard the tragic news, I said, ‘I wonder who he was.’ And then all of a sudden, this overwhelming, this overwhelming sense of sorrow and kind of renewal.” “And I thought, I gotta learn about this guy. And the more I learned about him, I thought, this guy's a modern day Saint Paul. He was a missionary, he's an evangelist, he's a hero.” “He's one that knew what Jesus meant when he said, the truth will set you free. And to do it, Now, I understand he was pretty blunt and he was pretty direct. He didn't try to avoid any controversy. He didn't even try to avoid confrontation. The difference is the way, the mode, the style that he did it, always with respect.”

I know the pain of losing loved ones to assassination. Charlie Kirk stood for life, faith, and truth—unashamed of Jesus. Now is not the time to attack him, but to honor his legacy, pray for his family, and ask: Where will you spend eternity?

Listen to the President of the Int'l Association of Fire Fighters who represents nearly 360,000 fire fighters. Every member of Congress needs to hear his testimony —> "[The fire truck industry] is facing a crisis across the country that's been building for more than 20 years."

On Sunday, FDNY members and leaders took part in the Father Mychal Judge Walk of Remembrance. Hundreds gathered to honor and remember his bravery and dedication. Father Mychal Judge was a Franciscan Friar, Catholic Priest and FDNY Chaplain who rushed to the World Trade Center on 9/11. He offered prayers to the dead and comfort to the injured. He was killed when the North Tower collapsed. We will #NeverForget him.

This man is Derrick Perry a U.S. Marine Veteran who held the suspect from the Walmart stabbing at gun point, which prevented more tragedy & allowed for emergency responders to quickly access victims. Give this hero the recognition his actions deserve.

TIME TO RETHINK NYC'S BIKE LANE OBSESSION NYC’s bike lanes are a failed experiment – bloated, underused, and strangling the city’s streets. Rip Them Out. Bike lanes now dominate miles of NYC streets – but who are they really for? 🚲 Less than 2% of New Yorkers commute by bike. 🚑 Emergency vehicles are stuck behind concrete islands. 🚌 Buses are slower, curb space is gone. 🚷 Pedestrians – the most vulnerable road users – are forced to dodge e-bikes, mopeds, and reckless riders who don’t even use the lanes properly. 💰 Meanwhile, NYC has poured $135M+ into bike lanes over the past few years – mostly serving tourists, app delivery riders, and a vocal cycling minority. And most of this was done with little to no real public input – no citywide vote, no serious outreach, just top-down planning pushed through by bike lobbyists and ideologues. It’s time for a reset. At once, there must be a removal of low-use bike lanes citywide, keeping only the few corridors that actually move people. The rest? Tear them out, repave, and restore the streets to serve the 98% of New Yorkers: drivers stuck in traffic, bus riders waiting endlessly, pedestrians dodging reckless cyclists, and everyone just trying to live in a functional city. Cost of removal? $20M–$50M, a one-time fix. Cost of keeping them? $20M+ every single year for infrastructure barely anyone uses. Let’s end the fantasy that a bike utopia will solve NYC’s transit problems. Restore curb access. Prioritize emergency response. Protect pedestrians. Bring back real traffic flow. It’s time to put the city back in motion. Rip. Them. Out.

This isn’t a hard task to get behind. We have north of 411,000 signatures on a petition to get this done. This goes to show you there are very few people in government who actually care about American people, or their safety, and it’s damn near impossible to hold any of them accountable. They are untouchable mouthpieces for an agenda the rest of us are will never be privy to. Government officials have known about this for over a year now. Thank you @timburchett for spear heading this. You’re one of the few men left up there with honor.
