Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire on floors 1&2 at 6 Medway st. Dorchester.There are 3 residents displaced ⁦⁦, the ⁦@RedCross to help with housing . There are no injuries to report. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

At approximately 6 this evening firefighters had heavy smoke showing on arrival from a 5 story parking garage on Guest st. Brighton. A 2nd alarm was ordered. 3 cars were on fire level 2 . No injuries to report, the cause is under investigation .

Congratulations to Rodney Marshall who was sworn in today by Mayor Michelle Wu as the 45th Fire Commissioner of the City of Boston.

There will be a fireworks display tonight 4/29/2026 approximately 6:30-6:45 at Fenway Park for the Northeastern Graduation Commencement Ceremonies.

A great time at Family Day at the Boston Fire Training Academy, for the families of recently graduated recruits. Today gave the families the opportunity to see firsthand some of the training and skills they learned in the academy.

Today they honored the life of Firefighter William Carey, who left us too soon .They named a square after him in his neighborhood of West Roxbury at the annual shamrock shootout.

FYI in case you hear loud noises in the Allston/ Brighton area , there will be a fireworks display tonight around 08:00 for the Harvard Lampoon 150th celebration near the John Weeks footbridge.

A special Thank You to the members of A-10. @BostonSparks who volunteered their time at the Boston Marathon to support all the 1st Responders. They provided refreshments, ,breakfast and lunch to anyone who needed it. They provide an invaluable service to our 1st Responders .

A beautiful day for the marathon. Firefighters are out patrolling the marathon route, to ensure a safe and enjoyable race.

Chief of Operations Patrick Ellis briefs the media on the 3 alarm fire at Boston Medical Center Brighton. Over 2 dozen patients were evacuated from the hospital. The cause the fire is under investigation. A great coordinated response made the evacuation process go smoothly.

Once firefighters cleared the smoke from the hospital, they coordinated with ⁦@BOSTON_EMS⁩ and the hospital staff to help evacuate multiple patients . Firefighters had to carry patients down the stairs in a basket, to the waiting ambulance’s to be transported.

Once firefighters extinguished the fire in the electrical room, they used multiple fans to disperse the heavy smoke condition in the building. Firefighters vented it through pressurized stairwell to a roof skylight.

At approximately 1:30 this morning firefighters responded to a fire at Boston Medical Center Brighton. The fire was located in an electrical room. A 2nd alarm was ordered.

Firefighters quickly contained the fire in the attic at 190 Lexington st. East Boston & stopped it from traveling to the attached homes on either side. There are no injuries to report, 7 residents displaced ⁦@RedCrossMA⁩ help with housing. The cause is under investigation

Firefighters working at a fire in a mult- family home at 54 Marshfield st. Rox. The fire traveled up the walls from the 1st floor to the 3rd. No injuries to report, 6 residents were displaced ⁦@RedCrossMA⁩ . The cause of the fire is under investigation.
