Nobody in the political parties or in government has the slightest interest in doing this. Despite the fact we are only country in the EU mandated to hold regular referendums

I have argued for years that every TD, Senator and councillor should get trained in how the European Union works. None of the political parties take Europe seriously. The gap between Ireland’s pro EU rhetoric and the serial neglect of Europe by Oireachtas is deeply hypocritical.
