KILLABEARS MOVIE UPDATE 🎬🐻 Didn’t plan to post about this (it’s not that exciting), but since people keep asking—here’s where things stand 👇 We hired writers a while back. That process was slow (you witnessed small pieces of it): negotiations, scheduling, outline → first draft → feedback → second draft → internal review. After all that… we weren’t sold on the script. It wasn’t bad — it just wasn’t the movie we want to make. Naively, I thought it would work like most creative projects — you give notes, they revise, you get closer to what you envisioned. But Hollywood doesn’t really work that way. At that point, we had three options: 1️⃣ Do a “polish” (which wasn’t enough — it needed surgery), or 2️⃣ Say thanks but no thanks and find a new writer. 3️⃣ You can guess what this option is, we never considered it. Together with @SethGreen, we decided to start fresh. We’d rather take our time and make the exact movie we’ve dreamed of — nothing else. I flew to LA to meet with @SethGreen and @kickRRR to plan a new approach: Instead of giving broad creative freedom, we’d build a very detailed outline — guardrails for any new writer to follow. They’ll still have space to add creative touches, but the story, tone, and heart will stay 100% true to the Killabears world we envisioned so long ago. Since then, we’ve worked closely with Seth and his team on the outline and have reviewed several strong scripts from new writers. That’s where we are now. We will have to make a decision on who we go with soon (Hollywood timing, meaning it may not be so soon by the time it's inked). I get it — web3 has zero patience 😅 But this is our only bite at the apple. We're going to do it right and let the more experienced people involved help advise us to enhance our chances at success. Hollywood is slow, messy, and outdated — but if we want to walk that red carpet one day, this is the path we have to take. Not a flashy update, but an honest one. When production’s scheduled, you’ll be the first to know. ❤️🐻🎬
