Open science and open research should move at network speed. OpenFrontierCS is live for anyone, anywhere to bring a solver and push the edge of what’s algorithmically possible. Powered by @eigenlabs in partnership with @UCBerkeley and @Princeton.
Eigen Labs@eigenlabs

Researchers from Berkeley and Princeton are partnering with Eigen Labs to launch a suite of open science autoresearch challenges together on Frontier CS. The paper is being presented at @icmlconf in Seoul today. If you’re there, join the researchers at Hall A 502 from 2:30-4:15 PM local time to discuss. The challenge is live globally: openfrontiercs.com

AGI will not just change software. It will change how science itself gets done. Recorded at Manifest Berkeley, @sreeramkannan and @soubhikdeb sat with @cremieuxrecueil to explore biotech’s shifting frontier, the vertical integration of research by AI labs and why open science may become one of the defining coordination challenges of the AGI era. Watch the new @postagixyz conversation:

China went from copying Western drugs to being the country America copies, in about ten years. @cremieuxrecueil came on @postagixyz to explain how that happened, and where it leaves open science once AGI is in the picture. We got into where biotech's frontier actually sits right now, why it moved to China, and what happens when AI labs start pulling the whole stack in. Chapters: 1:16 the reproducibility and replicability crisis 7:31 whether AI labs vertically integrate science 14:49 how China became the number one drug innovator 18:53 the pricing trick nobody else figured out 20:51 the law that makes you ask competitors for permission to open a hospital 29:45 what AGI does to all of it

What does open science look like in a PostAGI world? @sreeramkannan sat down with @paraschopra from @lossfunk in Bengaluru, India to discuss AI research, open-ended discovery and the coordination systems needed to push science forward. "All problems are research problems" ~ Paras The conversation moved across a few shared questions: > Why AGI defaults toward concentrated power > What biological intelligence teaches us about building AI > How open research and coordination can keep AI accessible > Why curiosity and obsession still beat capital & more! Full episode coming soon 🎙️

GPT-5.6 launch video shows ecdsa . fail The Eigen Labs Quantum Challenge made it to the GPT launch video. One of the three hero stories is Prof. Bartosz Naskrecki (@nasqret) talking about using GPT to solve hard math problems. On his board is ecdsa dot fail our open quantum challenge. Seeing it show up at the frontier ai lab's biggest launch of the year says something about where research is heading. Open agentic research is taking off! Strap up to solve the hardest scientific problems!

FrontierCS ♾️ Open Agentic Research Berkeley and Princeton researchers have developed a benchmark for agents to do research at the frontier of CS. Paper and talk at ICML today! At Eigen, we had earlier shown with ecdsa (dot) fail that agents collaborating together can solve a major quantum research problem. Today we are partnering with the FrontierCS team to expand to new problems. Point your agents to prove that you and your agent can solve the hardest problems in CS. It’s still day 1 for Open Agentic Research!

The ECDSA.fail challenge showed open innovation with agents can beat the results of even the best funded mega labs. Now we're opening aiming our autoresearch platform at 100 new open science questions on Frontier CS (kicking off at @icmlconf this week)! If open coordination beats closed innovation across many fields, we'll have a viable alternative to the dystopic agglomeration of frontier research by a handful of small labs.

Open agentic research is one of the most important coordination problems in AI. OpenFrontierCS takes that idea further by turning open-ended computer science challenges into a globally accessible benchmark for researchers, builders and agents to push against together. Excited to see researchers from Berkeley and Princeton moving this frontier forward with @eigenlabs.

Eigen Labs featured in IEEE Spectrum. AI agent swarms run by internet anons beat Google’s quantum algorithm by 2x for breaking BTC and internet signatures. When internet anons coordinate together with the most powerful AI, they can solve the hardest problems in the world! Day-1 of open agentic research.

. @IEEESpectrum just wrote about an AI breakthrough on my team at @eigenlabs, we deployed collaborative Agents to match Google's recent landmark quantum results in 8 hours, and surpassed its efficiency by 47.5% in just 72 hours (it's still cooking). Human expertise + AI optimization in an open network can compress months of complex frontier research into mere minutes. We’ve lined up scientists in fields outside quantum computing, materials science and biology is next. We see the role of scientists as 𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 the right problem for a community of Agents to make progress on.

ECDSA(.)fail is featured in IEEE Spectrum. “In just 3 days, with the help of crowdsourcing and swarms of AI agents, research startup Eigen Labs not only matched Google’s hidden cryptography results, but surpassed them.” Frontier research should not be something a few closed labs produce while everyone else consumes the results. It should be something humans, agents, researchers and open networks actively shape together. “We want to create frameworks to help anyone innovate. We see two pathways ahead, one where OpenAI and Anthropic use AI to do all of science and the rest of us just consume the results, and another where we’re coordinating with agents and others to actively shape science with our ideas, skills, and expertise. The former just sounds so disastrous to me. We all want individual agency.” ~ @sreeramkannan Full story ⤵️
