Anyone with a modicum of common sense would've told you a year ago the rebrand to LTA was a bad idea. Sunsetted a super popular brand in CBLOL and while LCS wasn't thriving, in 2023 they were definitely making decisions to move it in the right direction.
Definitely the right call to bring them back but stunted both brands. Question now is if that damage is recoverable

everyone I talked to at LCS — before the merger was even announced — knew it would fail if we changed the name. idk why it took a whole year of irreversible damage to realize that :/

Assuming they announce this at Finals, I hope the crowd pop is massive but I also hope people loudly hold Riot accountable
I am beyond happy to get the LCS back but we need action taken so that those that have continuously made bad product decisions are no longer in power

Heard the same thing. They will go back to LCS and CBLOL but keep the LTA branding for the "Cross conference matches" or smth like that

Sexism in society, and especially in gaming, is rooted in systems that have long made it feel acceptable to diminish women.
None of it is okay, yet too often it’s brushed off. How many times have we all experienced microaggressions where speaking up makes you the ‘bad guy’?

Recently, Bwipo made sexist comments that are antithetical to FlyQuest’s core values. Every day, we try to make the gaming space better and that includes helping anyone with a passion for competition reach the highest possible levels of play. That’s why we’re so proud of the RED program and our work to elevate diverse and underserved communities across gaming. Comments that might discourage even one young woman from pursuing her dream of becoming a pro player harm the future of esports, and we take that very seriously. While our first impulse is to educate when clearly ignorant comments like this are made, accountability is also a core value of our organization. As a result, we will be suspending Bwipo from play for the next series in the LTA playoffs and donating his event prize money to causes that support women in gaming.
