The real reason why PCs are being called AI PCs:
To get you to upgrade earlier. Even though they are just normal PCs with AI slapped on them

I'm currently available for employment and/or freelance roles! I am an experienced PC Hardware Editor, but I'm also openpen to Tech PR Roles.
(Warning: long tweet!) Please tag or retweet anyone who may be interested in hiring me! I have some big news. My tenure at @anandtech has ended, and it's been a great seven or so years, which I genuinely loved. I would have been proud to have even contributed a small tidbit to an article at AnandTech, let alone all the content I have over the years. I have posted over 500 bylines, with many of these being detailed analyses and event coverage.
Writing for AnandTech was my pipedream when I first got into this industry many years ago, and I can honestly say I have accomplished this dream and gone beyond the realms of what I thought. The experience genuinely humbles me.
Going from a basic freelance editor to taking over from Dr. Ian Cutress as Senior Editor is one of my greatest lifelong achievements, and I'm forever grateful for it. I learned so much from my time at AT and got to stamp my authority on PC hardware as the authority. Over the years, I've had the pleasure of working with some of the best the industry has to offer, including @RyanSmithAT, @ganeshts, @andreif7, and others from the team.
I also want to give a special mention to my mentor and friend throughout my time at AnandTech, Dr. @IanCutress: Without this man, I wouldn't be where I am today, and I'm forever grateful for his knowledge, friendship, and very strong ethical nature.
During my time, I've met some wonderful people I consider good friends and done amazing things with amazing people. I just wanted to thank everyone, including companies and anyone my content has helped over the years! I'm not leaving the industry, though...
If you're looking for an experienced editor with many years of experience and great relationships in the tech industry, please feel free to contact me! Thanks to all (please retweet or tag anyone who may be interested in my services 🙂)

@datadictum @Kunerticus @TheRegister Great writing! I went to look this up and Demis is Google's Deep Mind CEO. Which apparently AI thought was a minor detail. "Knife, sword, whatever" 😀

"Some technology is declared to be AI in egg form, just needing the warm fluffy hen's bottom of massive investment to hatch as a miraculous giant robo-god. The egg is never what it's cracked up to be..." Brilliant stuff from @Kunerticus

Last year, I wrote an opinion piece for @TheRegister highlighting several shortcomings with Apple Voice Control: shorturl.at/ApTmZ
Prominent was handling of vocabulary and proper nouns. Tonight, I’m thrilled that many of my concerns have been addressed in iOS 18!

@rwang0 @Kunerticus @TheRegister Compared to US, yes! As I said, regulators bite more than they can chew! Some things are glaring violation of fair business practices.
Please read the article, it's written based on some good research!
