Back in the mountains.

Completed my first triathlon on Monday (sprint distance) in Winchester. Enormous fun and very well organised by @ReesLeisure. The great thing about doing your first is that you are guaranteed a PB 😉. I was very slow...

Completed my first full marathon of the year on Sunday, the ABP Southampton Marathon. Brilliantly organised by @ReesLeisure. Managed to take another chunk out of my PB. The picture below is crossing St Mary's Stadium as part of the route (@SouthamptonFC).

@RichardJMurphy Absolutely disgraceful. How about showing a bit of corporate discretion and responsibility @EE? You don't need to hold price increases to a contract if circumstances cause the terms to become unreasonable.

I got an email from EE today: "We wanted to let you know that on 31 March 2023, your price plan will increase by 14.4%. This is in line with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rate of inflation published in January, plus 3.9%." Oh, the joy of having a statutorily backed pay rise.

Stop halfway resting and halfway working. We spend too much time in this in-between zone of kind of doing work, but not doing actual deep work. Work deeply. Rest deeply. Get out of the middle zone.

My first 'official' run of 2023, the Jurassic Express Half Marathon in Dorset yesterday. Brilliantly organised by @ukrunningevents. Fantastic scenery along the cliffs and hills of Purbeck (over 500m of ascent) . The event even included a trip on a heritage steam railway. Perfect.

Enjoyed a stimulating afternoon co-leading a Challenge Workshop on Sustainability Leadership in HE for @AdvanceHE Senior Strategic Leadership Programme at @warwickuni with @patrick_7780, hosted by Jean Chandler and @LEAD_Doug, with some great, thoughtful participants.
