I've kept this quiet, but as things are now in place I should talk about it. I found out I was losing my vision last year. I've been functionally blind in one eye for about 6 months, and 2mm away from losing the sight in the other eye.

Are we pro vampire and informing Dracula that dawn has come and he should flee. Or are we warning that Dracula has harnessed the power of the sun, is now a Daywalker, and we should seek shelter?

Surgery went well. Road to recovery begins here and we’ll find out the results over the next few months. 👀

I reviewed Screamer by @MilestoneItaly a new arcade racer. It’s awesome, and it resonated with me so much because it’s in a genre I don’t typically play. It’s fast and stylish as hell and I’ll be playing this for a while just for its pure fun factor. techraptor.net/gaming/reviews…

Thank you to everyone, friends, colleagues, and those in between. You have helped my mental health more than you know when trying to deal with this. I love you all.

We now have a surgery date at the beginning of April. A 3 month recovery period, and a risk it comes back within a week. There is more info in the attached note, but yeah. After April I'll be taking some time to rest and recover. Try out eyepatch fashion, and cross my fingers.

If you love videogames, ALWAYS root for a game to succeed, the ripple effect of a failed game on the industry impacts the people who make the games and us the people who enjoy playing them for many years afterwards (you're witnessing that impact right now)

@DevAmphibian @GameDadVII They wanted to shadowdrop it and just put it out there. The TGA thing was offered to them, and they thought they'd just be mid show. They didn't even have a proper trailer for it. They laugh it off as a "Well, we just have to roll with it" kind of thing.

@GameDadVII Final spot of Game Awards and insanely high claims does not make it a "skip if it isn't for you" type of game.

Highguard is another example of why I tire of online discourse regarding gaming showcases. The rise of "anti-fans" is huge. Back in the day if something wasnt for you, youfocused on the stuff you like. Now people put as much energy into hating something as they do what they like.

Highguard feels like Apex while gearing up, followed by Tribes on horses for the CTF/Shieldbreaker phase, and then Valorant/R6:Siege in that Attack/Defend stage. A lot of moving parts that may confuse people at first but when it clicks? It's fun. Also, Horse Tribes. Yes.
