@Cpass12David My husband knew Starmer. He said he was the best CPS director ever. Hard working and innovative. À third of his work was pro bono helping tortured prisoners via Amnesty International.

Pippa, how you have fallen. From the crusading intelligent journalist who helped expose The Liar Johnson's partygate lawbreaking, to one of the braying pack against a decent, hard working, caring PM, Keir Starmer. It's a real shame #MediaBiasAgainstLabour

@JohnSimpsonNews @The_ChrisShaw The whole situation is tragic. War is tragic. Using cluster bombs is a war crime. It’s all unbearable. What hope for the future?

In 2013, a 3-year-old boy fell down a 49ft well in Romania. Firefighters spent 11 hours trying to get him out but couldn’t. They said it was too narrow and he couldn’t be rescued.
Then a 14-year-old seventh grader, who had just gotten home from school, volunteered to go down. They tied ropes around his waist, lowered him into the well, and he came back up with the little boy.

Ed Miliband gets relentless bile from the right for his ‘ideological’ commitment to clean, cheap renewable energy - just as Nye Bevan once did for creating the NHS. Yet on March 25 97.7 % of our electricity was from renewables. A revolution is unfolding. observer.co.uk/news/columnist…

@EveleenWinters @heather63262308 That must be a great relief. 15 hours isn’t acceptable both medically and for the stress it causes all involved. 👍🏻

Petrol and diesel up every day for three weeks - diesel £1.78/litre, petrol tops £1.50. Crude oil up this morning. Good news for Chancellor's VAT take but why do pump prices rise so quickly? and when might they come down? with Edmund King @AAPresident on @Moneybox noon @BBCRadio4

When my grandmother was 99 she had a pacemaker fitted. They flew her to Wellington for the operation.
Before they went the guy asked her if she wanted to be resuscitated. She said yes.
The guy then asked her again, explaining that it can cause quite painful injuries. She was a completely capable woman of full mental capacity and said yes she understood and please resuscitate her if she needed it.
He then asked her a third time, telling her that her quality of life might be different.
At that point, my grandmother turned to my father and asked “What does he want me to say?” and Dad then intervened telling the now very defensive guy to knock it off.
That kind of low level pressure happens in the health system every day.

A nurse huffs and rolls her eyes because you asked for the correct size blood pressure cuff instead of letting her crush your arm.
Nurse strapping it on, velcro screaming: Hold still, this is going to pinch.
You: That cuff is too small. It's going to hurt and give a falsely high reading. Can you get the large adult size?
Nurse: We keep those in the back. It’ll only take a second, just deal with it. I don't have time to go hunting.
You: It's not special equipment, it's the correct equipment for my body.
Nurse: Look, your BP is probably high anyway because of your weight.
You: My weight doesn't dictate your standard of care. Go get the correct cuff, or we can have the charge nurse explain to you why using the wrong medical equipment is a liability.
Aftermath: She marched down the hall, brought the right cuff, and the reading was normal.
Insight: Your body is never the problem. Their refusal to accommodate it is.
