@AlexJJNorris Don't you think justice for those families and releasing the thousands of people trapped in dangerous buildings might be a more appropriate action than having a "think". Honestly, you're as hopeless as your Tory predecessors. Happy to build, build, build & let us rot and burn.

Today, eight years after the Grenfell Tower tragedy, we remember the 72 people who lost their lives, and we think of their families, friends and the survivors of that night.
Angela Rayner@AngelaRayner

Eight years on from the Grenfell Tower tragedy we remember the 72 people who lost their lives and keep in our thoughts those who lost loved ones, the survivors and immediate community. We must ensure what happened at Grenfell Tower is never forgotten and never happens again.

@Keir_Starmer @AngelaRayner A safe and secure home is still a distant dream for hundreds of thousands of innocent leaseholders across the country. We're still waiting for change. Pity you forgot about our plight in last year's King's Speech after all your support in opposition. x.com/BBCPolitics/st…

"The Grenfell tragedy was four years and three Queen's Speeches ago yet thousands of people are still trapped in unsafe buildings" Labour leader Keir Starmer says "no excuse" for PM's inaction on cladding, which should have been in #QueensSpeech bbc.in/33zo5oM

❗In its manifesto @UKLabour pledged to “take decisive action to improve building safety” and “put a renewed focus on ensuring those responsible for the building safety crisis pay to put it right”. ❌ Now @angelarayner chooses to protect developers 👇 thetimes.com/uk/politics/ar…

@mhclg ... And postponing the building safety levy. ❌ What developers want, developers get. Meanwhile, up to 3 million people remain trapped in dangerous, unmortgageable & unsaleable flats. *Slow clap*

❌ Yesterday the Govt POSTPONED the building safety levy. ❌ Today they're giving more money to developers to build shared ownership flats, which they call 'affordable housing'. ❌ Another kick in the teeth for victims of the building safety crisis.
Angela Rayner@AngelaRayner

Today we’re announcing £2 billion of new funding to support the biggest boost in social and affordable housing in a generation. Everyone deserves to have a safe and secure place to call home - this government is working to make that a reality.

Asked Lords Minister today about PAS9980 and sky high insurance costs for leaseholders. Insurance companies not convinced buildings now safe. Why doesn’t Government act to help?

72 people died at Grenfell. No-one, and no firm has been prosecuted and no-one has lost their job as a result. Over 2,400 other tower blocks are similarly dngerous. The government will need to respond on all these issues. housingtoday.co.uk/news/rayner-to…

If there's going to be a memorial to Grenfell, let's make it the removal of flammable cladding from the hundreds of buildings that still have it eight years later

Help from leaseholder community please. My friend has been billed £375 to bring flat fire door up to norm. Is this a fair price? Seems too excessive. Why must innoncent flat owners pay for government, council and builder incompetence? @mtpennycook @Keir_Starmer @AngelaRayner

As well as local growth and building safety, part of my role at @MHCLG is responsibility for resilience, recovery and emergencies. So it was great to join Abena at @LincolnshireLRF and Waddington Training Centre to hear about the hard work that goes into keeping people safe.
Abena Oppong-Asare MP@abenaopp

Great to meet @LincolnshireLRF last week with @AlexJJNorris. Impressed to see how the LRF Innovation Fund is driving projects that boost public preparedness and resilience. I also visited Waddington Fire & Rescue Training Centre, where teams master crisis response skills.

I think freeholders and the government thought leaseholders weren't listening or looking, but they were, and now everyone else is too. Some simple choices to be made here.
Robert Jenrick@RobertJenrick

Starmer’s lawyer mates aren’t just involved in the surrender of the Chagos. They’re also working to frustrate leasehold reforms for 5 million people. Even Labour MPs are warning of the ‘chilling effect’ that Lord Hermer is having.

Truly appreciate @lewis_goodall for giving me the opportunity to speak for the 5.3 million leaseholders. @UKLabour promised to end leasehold in their manifesto. They need to stop the delays and resource this agenda. Or we will see disaffection with them and democracy grow.
Free Leaseholders@FreeLeasehlders

Massive thanks to @lewis_goodall @LBC for shining a light on toxic leasehold and the political story behind it. If people care about unleashing growth, boosting homeownership and tackling the cost of living, they need to get behind the movement!
