I'm currently researching the Revolution and it shocked me how the pop culture knowledge is just "taxes and the tea party". The 1763 Royal Proclamation (which forbade settlement beyond the Appalachians and was a major tension bc how dare the British tell us not to settle on Native lands) is basically left out of the narrative.
