To hone in on the role of the arcuate nucleus, they deleted the glucocorticoid receptor in this specific region... and found that only the male mice 🐭♂️ were affected (increased food intake and body weight). (3/4)

Somatostatin-expressing (SST) neurons are a subpopulation of highly heterogeneous GABAergic interneurons that play a variety of functions in the brain. This #FluorescenceFriday video shows SST labeling in a whole mouse brain, labeled with SmartBatch+ and imaged with #SmartSPIM.

@liye_tsri We also saw friends and collaborators, like @sarah_stern and @SeBullich, in the poster sessions! Sébastien’s poster examined stress-induced food overconsumption in a mouse model, exploring the role of corticosterone in brain feeding circuitry. (4/4)
