Linux is a viable solution for many today, sure some games are explicitly blocked from linux but 99% games are supported through proton :) linux today has wonderful desktops to choose from and many applications supported to even do creative work. #Linux #linuxgaming

Some of the last reasons to stay on Windows have been gaming related. Both the time from installation to in-game and gaming performance on Bazzite are now actually better than Windows on many games, and living room usability is more seamless too.

@Theoreticalsama @CachyOS 1. Cachy is arch so it's rolling, if you have some of the latest hardware it's important to be using a distro that is upstream like cachy or bazzite unlike pop or mint. 2. cachy does use a tool called ananicy that makes sure the game process is higher priority over others.

@CachyOS I saw someone else say it, but I'm still a windows 11 user. I've flashed a bazzite ISO to a drive for install and just haven't done it yet. What makes CachyOS better than, say, Mint, Pop, or Bazzite? Not looking for testimonials, I want metrics.

@girishashoryu @CachyOS Nothing will happen from nvidia, you are either stuck on the last proprietary driver which is like 585 or you will need to rely on NVK in mesa which is improving at a fast pace.

Today, I met with Colorado Senator Matt Ball, co-author of Colorado OS Age Attestation Bill SB26-051. Sen. Ball suggested excluding open source software from the bill. This appears to be a real possibility. Amendments are expected for the CA age attestation bill. It's my hope we can move fast enough to influence excluding open source in the CA bill amendments. No illusions, it's an uphill battle, but we have an open door to advocate for the open source community.
